Q&A With Kevan Turman

Kevan Turman
Campaign Manager, The Lincoln University

Location: Newark, DE United States
Joined: Aug 29th, 2006
About   (request update)
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, Kevan L. Turman has planted his roots on the east coast. Having attended Philadelphia Public Schools until he was college age, Mr. Turman decided to venture slightly outside of the city to attend Lincoln University in 1997.

Upon graduation, Mr. Turman joined MBNA, Credit Card Bank as a participant in the Management Development Program. Though the corporate world proved to be one of great knowledge and experience, it was Mr. Turman’s vision to return to his Alma Mater and serve as the Lincoln Man he was groomed to be while still a student. In November 2003 he returned to serve in the Admissions department.

As fate would have it, Mr. Turman was provided the opportunity to live in Ghana, West Africa so he left Lincoln to help build a local community on the continent. Upon his return, Mr. Turman served as a Language Arts and Social Science Teacher. Again, his heart yearned for Lincoln University’s roots, and in February 2006 he made what he thought was his final return as the Director of Alumni Relations.

Four years later he realized that his stint at his Alma Mater should come to an end if he planned to reach the professional goals he set for himself. He joined the Alumni Relations team at The University of Delaware as their Associate Director of Alumni Clubs. He later went on to work for Wiley College and Grambling State University and is now back where it all started; Lincoln University. He came back as the Assistant to the President for Lincoln University’s 13th President and most recently became the Campaign Manager for this Institutions 1st Student’s First Endowment Campaign where the University sets out to raise $10 Million for need-based and merit-based Scholarships.

During all this time and relocation, Mr. Turman progressed from a man to a husband & father. Kalisha and Kevan Turman are embarking upon 10-years of marriage and have an 8 year old son named Isaiah and a 6 year old daughter named Kayla.
