IT IS THE MOST WONDERFUL THING IN THE WORLD TO REP SEXUAL PURITY FOR CHRIST JESUS AND BE SEXUALLY PURE IN MIND, BODY, AND SPIRIT. I have served as a motivational speaker and host for numerous events throughout the DC Metropolitan area. I AM A FORMER RADIO PERSONALITY/HOST OF BOTH THE URBAN TALK SHOW, THE TAKEOVER LIVE AND THE HBCU EXPERIENCE WHICH AIRED ON HEAVEN 1580AM. I am also a Youth Counselor for underprivileged teenage boys in the DC area. The Takeover Live Ministry is a Christ centered movement that God birthed in me which is designed to empower youth and young adults to tackle issues that cripple our culture such as sexual impurity, homosexuality, lust, depression, suicide, loneliness, insecurity, and many others. The Takeover Live movement is also designed to raise up a generation of victorious warriors young and older that will impact this generation by taking over their homes, schools, communities, churches, and the world for Christ through ministry, music, unity, prayer, and fellowship. One of the ways that I believe a Takeover Movement can be successful in this world is through the message of HOLY HIP HOP- music with bangin beats and powerful messages which are dangerous to the kingdom of darknes. WHO SAID YOU HAD TO LOSE YOUR SWAGGER WHEN YOU GET SAVED? THAT IS A LIE FROM THE DEVIL. YOUR SWAGGER SHOULD IMPROVE BECAUSE YOU HAVE JESUS IN YOUR LIFE. SANCTIFICATION AND SWAGGER ARE A DANGEROUS COMBINATION TO THE ENEMY. YOU CAN BE SAVED AND SANCTIFED AND BE FLY, FRESH AND HOLY FOR THE KINGDOM. KEEP YOUR SWAGGER, BUT DONT COMPROMISE YOUR STAND! Most Memorable Moment:
One of the most remarkable experiences that I have ever had was when I competed to become Mr. Bowie State University in the Mr. and Miss Bowie State Pageant in March of 2002. Ironically, there was only one competitor running against me but I knew in my heart that if it was God's will for me to be Mr. Bowie State that I would win. There were five segments of the competition which consisted of talent, business attire, formal wear, school spirit, and question and answer. To be Mr. Bowie State, means to me that one must know how to set a standard for the male population on campus. One must be a good ambassador, a mentor to students, love people, and more importanltly, be a servant leader at heart. Being Mr. Bowie State University is not about popularity although received, it is about hard work, character and integrity. A student leader must be willing to be there with the students and for the students and know how to address issues and concerns of the student body. During the business attire section I wore a business suit and was introduced to my audience. During school spirit, I wore school apparel and recited a poem about Bowie State. During the talent segment, I preached a message from my favorite book, the Bible and told everyone present about the goodness of God and how I would uplift His name as Mr. Bowie State. Many were blessed because I was not ashamed of my Lord and Saviour. The next day elections took place from the student body. That same night I went to the Student Government office to find out the results. I sat nervously, but then heard someone call me Mr. Bowie State. I rejoiced and celebrated. I could not explain the happiness that I felt. I believe that pageants such as these should not make the competitors enemies but friends. I am thankful that the gentleman that I competed against was my friend before we ran and to this day we are closer. He is active on this campus as my first attendant and I call him Mr. Black and Gold. Competing for Mr. Bowie State was a great learning experience.
As Mr. Bowie State University, I am a male student leader, role model, and an ambassador for my school. I love holding the position that I do on my campus because it gives me a greater opportunity to impact the lives of my fellow students. With leadership and power comes great responsibility. Another one of my most recent experiences proved this point to me. I was walking to class one day when I say that one of our new students was crying. She and I were already friends and formed a mentor/mentee relationship. I was on my way to a Student Government meeting at the time but stopped what I was doing and asked her what was wrong. She proceeded to tell me that she was considering dropping out of school because she felt that she was being a financial burden on her mom. Her mom was paying for school in addition to the loans that she had. The student told me that her mom did not mind paying for her to go to school, but knew that her mom had other financial obligations and did not want to impose on her. Immediately, my heart was touched. I hugged her, prayed with her, and encouraged her by telling her that everything would work out and that her mom wanted the best for her and that was to get an education. I chose not to go to the meeting at the time because I felt that this was more important. I took her to the Assistant Dean of Student Affairs where she was counseled and advised by my advisor. We told her that she should not drop out of school and that I and Miss Bowie State would help her find some jobs on campus. After encouraging her and taking her to two different departments on campus, our student found two jobs and decided to stay in college. She just recently received a $2,000.00 grant toward her education. To this day when I see her, she is very happy and making the best of her college career. I learned that the greatest wealth that any person can have comes when they invest time and love into other people. Anyone can be physically wealthy but what good is that wealth if they have not impacted other lives.
