About   (request update)
Dana Simone is a native of Detroit, Michigan. She graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1992 from a United Negro College Fund (UNCF) institution, Wiley College (Home of the Great Debaters) in Marshall, Texas. Ms. Stovall is very active with her alma mater; where she has served on the Board of Trustees and as president of the National Alumni Association.

Upon graduating from Wiley College, Ms. Stovall began working at the FDIC as a bank examiner, where she has examined over 180 financial institutions with assets ranging from $15 million to $3.7 billion. Dana Simone has worked at the Houston, Indianapolis, Detroit, and Chicago offices; as well as completed numerous special assignments in Chicago, Dallas, Washington (DC), San Francisco, and Memphis. At FDIC, she has served as chairman of one of its diversity councils, a graduate of the USDA Graduate School’s Executive Potential Program, a Corporate Recruiter, a mentor in the Corporate Mentoring Program, and president, treasurer, and vice president of education of its Toastmasters International Club. Ms. Stovall has completed over 65 specialized training courses: including Equal Employment Opportunity, Community Reinvestment, Time Management, Leadership & Interpersonal Skills, Fair Housing, Instructor Effectiveness, and Multi Cultural Awareness. Her community interests have been featured in the FDIC Consumer News regarding her involvement with the Money Smart financial literacy curriculum and the FDIC Employee News highlighting her ongoing commitment and involvement with Historically Black Colleges and Universities. Ms. Stovall has been employed at FDIC for nearly 21 years.

As a child, Dana Simone has always had a keen sense of who she was and the type of woman she wanted to become. As the founder and CEO of Destiny’s Door, she feels she is blessed to live out her life’s purpose, which is to help children grow into competent and relevant adults. Destiny’s Door was featured on Fox News in Dallas, Texas for a newly created program entitled the MyDestiny Mock Voting Station® for children ages 4-17. This program allowed children to learn about the election process and cast a mock ballot during the general election in 2008.

Additionally, she has been a volunteer for 25 years for numerous UNCF initiatives and her picture has appeared in two issues of JET Magazine commemorating her efforts. Dana Simone is very vocal in the communities she resides. Within one of her many zip codes, she challenged the local school board regarding a discriminatory issue involving the district’s school calendar and Dr. Martin Luther King’s holiday. She expressed her concerns during a district board meeting and presented diversity-related solutions. As a result of her efforts, the teacher’s union and the district’s board permanently amended all of the district-wide school calendars.

Dana Simone has recently completed writing her first book entitled What’s In Your 24? How To Get It Done, Without Getting Outdone. Her book attempts to abolish the misnomer that is in women’s everyday language--“I don’t have time.” What’s In Your 24 is a guide to living happier, getting fit from the inside out, taking control of your destiny, and Living Life Without Excuses. In addition, Simone was co-host of the 2day2nite Show with Nina Rawls (widow of Lou Rawls) in 2013. Ms. Stovall has broadened her business ventures by becoming a travel agent at her newly-created company: Planes, Lanes, & BaggageClaim.

Ms. Stovall is 42 years old and the younger of two siblings. She is also a basketball/cheer/dance/track mom. She resides in Aurora, Illinois with her adorable 12-year old daughter, Destiny Subira and her cat, Dominion ShakaZulu.
