Claim To Fame:
My grandmother, was a godmother to three adopted little boys whom were triplets. We played together all the time and we were more like siblings then cousins (that is what we called each other). As I was approaching the end of my junior year, they were completing their senior year. Their last Spring Break of High School two of the three decided to go to a party, Ricky and Ronny. While they were there (dancing) a gang of Mexicans came in and hit Ricky in the back of the head with a bat and stabbed him five times in the heart. His other brother whom was identical, was fighting the gang off of his brother, and he did not receive any help from "friends" at the party. The gang stabbed Ronny in the kidney. He himself knocked on doors as the boys were chasing him and received neither help nor entrance in the houses to call the police. So bleeding he had to run to the Quick Trip down the street were he called the police, but about the time Ronny and Ricky reached the hospital, Ricky had already died. The background behind this story is that Randy, Ronny and Ricky were three identical African American boys in a predominately white neighbor and the eight suspects have not been charged for the death of my cousin. The city is trying to cover up the situation so that people will continue to move into this "nice" neighborhood. The above reason and many more are why I want to go to College and major in criminal justice and then go to law school. I have always thought about it before, but the incident just helped me to make up my mind. I want to make the system fair and make it not discriminatory towards anyone. Even, though a gang of Mexicans murdered my cousin, I will not hold that against them. Since the incident, I have just recently applied myself to be apart of a youth court where I will be a prosecuting attorney dealing with first juvenile offenders (misdemeanors). It is not an enactment but real cases that go on the offender’s record. This will also help me really make up my mind if I really want to do this, because my heart is made up.
