Christopher A. Meullion is an Electrical/Systems Engineer II for Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems in El Segundo California. A native of Leonville, Louisiana Chris graduated from Morehouse College and Georgia Tech and the AUC Dual-Degree Engineering Program (DDEP) in December of 2009. He received two Bachelors of Science in Applied Physics and Electrical Engineering.
While in school Chris landed four separate internships with NASA. His first internship he started the summer after his freshmen year at Johnson Space Flight Center in Houston , Texas. The three consecutive summers afterwards were spent at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratories in Pasadena, California. Throughout these internships Christopher learned skills ranging from soldering, to writing a technical paper on the effects of ripples on Thin Film Membrane Satellite Apertures.
Wanting to head out west Christopher took an offer with Raytheon Space and Airborne Systems in El Segundo California. He started off writing Special Test Equipment Software and performing many hardware/software integration tasks. He was accepted into the 2013 class of Engineering Rotators and has already served two rotations. His first role was a Supplier Quality Engineer managing the suppliers for a Forward Looking Infrared Radar (FLIR) system. Chris was nominated and received the Excellence in R6 Sigma award presented by SAS President for his rework reduction efforts on this FLIR program. His second rotation was supporting the same FLIR program but as a Material Program Manager. He managed the schedule and procurement of $10M worth of material needed to support the design of the FLIR. His final rotation and current role is as Ground Systems Engineer Special Test Equipment Lead.
Current Whereabouts:
Well...you know how i do...I'm in Los Angeles doing another internship with NASA. They really like me...As always i can't wait to be back in the AUC.
Well, i'm all about handling my business and having fun. I guess my claim to fame would be my personality and my friends. Especially, those boys from that G-Phi Psi and the Great 8. We did bigs things this year for Graves Hall. Hold it down all my beautiful ladies at Clark and Spelman. I can't wait to be back in the AUC.
Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable moment was when Morehouse had their homecoming parade, and i got to take a picture with Spike Lee.
