About   (request update)
I am a proud native of the historical city of Natchez, MS. On June 21, 1987, my mom and dad received me as their third and final baby girl. I consider myself a gift to both parents, contemplating on the fact that I was born on Father's Day and the day before my mother's birthday. I have one brother, Rodney Minor, and one sister Rosalind "Nikki" Nichols. In addition to my immediate family, I have two nephews, Paul and Desmond Minor, and one niece, Jessica Minor. In May of 2005, I became a Natchez High School Honor graduate. While there I served as captain for the NHS Cheerleading squad my senior year and received various honors and awards. I continued my education at Alcorn State University majoring in Business Administration. Throughout my tenure, I served as a Disney College Program Campus Represenative, Student Leader, and a speaker for the Student Support Service Debate Team. In addition I've been an active member for the ASU Cheerleading Squad, National Council for Negro Women Inc., Beaute Noire Modeling Squad, Delta Mu Delta Honor Society, and Student Government Association. As far as my honors and accomplishments goes at Alcorn State, I've been a Presidential Scholar 2007, Dean's List Scholar 2005-2006, Tom Joyner Scholarship Recipient, Ronald E. McNair Post-Baccalaureate Scholar, and selected as a Who's Who Among Colleges and Universities. I've done internships in Orlando, FL , research at Ole Miss, and a research presentation in Alberquerque, New Mexico. In the Spring of 2008 I was elected by my peers to serve as the face and voice of the entire university, "Miss Alcorn State University." At that time I was not greek and that previous semester I interned in Orlando, FL. I thought that would be a disadvantage because I didn't know the incoming freshmens, but God already had it planned for me. What God has for me, it is for me. In the Spring of 2009, my senior year, I became a sophisticated lady of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Inc., and the next month I graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration (with honors distinction*). I am currently working at the Natchez Chamber of Commerce (temporarily) and will be enrolling in a Graduate Program next fall. It is my ultimate goal to become a successful business woman; a woman of character, power, and skill. Previously, my plan was to become a Human Resource Specialist in a growth-oriented firm. I'm intrigued on the idea of helping a business to progress successfully in a competitive environment. However, I've changed my interest from Human Resources to Public Relations. I think it's a greater demand for marketing and development expertise. As a past time, I enjoy traveling, playing music, and making the best of what life offers. I'm a go-getter and I feel like ones who can't keep up should just fall back cause I'm headed somewhere :)
