Emilee Christopher is the Director of Staff Recruitment at Public Preparatory Network in New York, New York. In this role, she is in charge of the recruitment strategy development and implementation, outreach, and applicant screening process for Public Prep’s three sister schools and network-level administrative staff. Prior to joining the Public Prep team, Emilee was the Director of Operations at one of Public Prep’s schools, Girls Prep Lower East Side Middle School. In this role, she oversaw finance, human resources, reporting, compliance and all school operations (I.e., technology, safety, food services, transportation, etc.).

Her passions include organizational development, leadership, youth empowerment, adult learning, project management, and non-profit management. She is currently completing a Professional Certificate in Leadership and Organizational Development at New York University’s School of Continuing and Professional Studies.

In her free time, Emilee volunteers as the Director of Program Development with Catalyst Network Foundation, Inc. She has helped steer the development of the Youth Summer Intensive Program, academic year school-based programming, and creates measures for program evaluation. Additionally, she mentors several of CNF’s fellows and helps them create Life Action Plans as they matriculate out of the formal two-year program.

Emilee graduated from North Carolina A&T State University with a Bachelors degree in Child Development and Family Studies in 2009 and a Masters of Education from the Harvard Graduate School of Education in Education Policy and Management in 2010. She is an aunt to two nephews (Sekou, 8, and Kamau, 4) and one niece (Aijae, 6). She is a Spring 2009 initiate into the Alpha Mu Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and an avid reader. Emilee currently resides in Brooklyn, New York.
