Cindy Brooks-Parks graduated from Shaw University with a BA in Public Administration as a part of the class of “98”. She also attended North Carolina Central University were she majored in Public Administration in the Master’s Program. She works as a Management Coordinator/Billing Manager for the City of Durham Fire Prevention Division. She has worked for the City of Durham for 21 years in varies positions and departments. She currently is the President of the Durham Alumni Chapter of Shaw University and has held this position for (15) years. In addition, she works with the National Alumni Association of Shaw University as the Vice President of the Northeastern North Carolina Region. She also is a lifetime member of the National Alumni Association of Shaw University. She has served on the Scholarship Committee and Homecoming Committee of the National Alumni Association of Shaw University in various capacities.

She attends Union Baptist Church in Durham NC. She is a Diamond Life member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., a member of NAACP, Domestic Violence Collation and The Committee on the Affairs of Black People. She is very active in the community where she has participated in Moral Mondays, Back to School Program, Jabberwock and other community activities.

Cindy is the proud mother of a 22 year old son Alexander who attends North Carolina A&T State University.

Claim To Fame:
My most recently, I coordinated the first Bronze Bear statue to be erected on Shaw University's campus. The Garden of Champion will be unveiled during homecoming 2013. It was gifted by the National Alumni Association of Shaw University.

Going on line and becoming a Delta.
