Writer, Producer-Director/Filmmaker
arryl’s film career began in 1991 working on the set of CBS’ In The Heat Of The Night. He began his career in television and radio in 1985 working at the CBS and ABC network affiliates in Montgomery, AL and the CBS, Fox and ABC network affiliates in Atlanta, GA. He worked as an announcer and program director at radio stations in Montgomery and Atlanta. The award-winning producer/director juggles his career from radio to TV/video/film to newspaper/magazines to music. With that versatility, he has produced and directed nearly 100 music videos, a dozen documentaries and network television specials for BET, TLC, Word Network and more; a handful of national TV commercials and his first movie won the New York International Film Festival spawning a national craze for Black College Marching Bands.
A musician since the 6th grade, Lassiter has played nearly every instrument in the brass family, specializing on the trumpet.
As an editor and columnist for the Atlanta Daily World Newspaper, & Upscale Magazine, he covered & photographed every major event from the SUPER BOWL to the OLYMPICS, WORLD SERIES, GRAMMY AWARDS, NBA FINALS, All-Star games and more. His features have appeared across the nation.
Recently, he was given a proclamation from the mayor of his hometown, inducted into the National Black College Alumni Distinction Hall Of Fame, a Lifetime Achievement Literacy Classic Award and the coveted Stellar Award for “Video-Of-The Year”. He’s a voter for the Emmy and Grammy Awards.
Darryl says he gets a lot of inspiration from his wife Krystyn. They have two daughters and two sons.

Most Memorable Moment:
Being a section leader for three years in all bands including, Marching, Symphonic, Jazz, Pep and Brass Ensemble and I dated and married the campus queen.

Being in all bands and playing spring football.

Being in the band and playing street football with my homeboys.
