About   (request update)
Current Whereabouts:
First of all, I receieved a $8,000 music scholarship here at Bethune-Cookman College. However, the tuition is $17,000 a year. Finacial Aid was able to cover almost the other half that was given from the music scholarship. Nonetheless, it was because I wasn't a Florida student living in a residence in Florida, that I didn't receive the full financial aid to attend college. However, my father had to pay $1,098 out of his personal pocket to make sure that I was covered for college expenses. In the mean time, it was my desire to work harder to find extra scholarships so that my father wil not have to pay for my college education. I would like to show him that I am responsible for my education, and that I can find other ways than his pocket to pay for my education.

Education   (request update)
Bethune Cookman University class of 2009
Undergrad Major: Biology
Claim To Fame:
First of all, since my major is Biology, my minor is Pre-medicine. With this in mind, it is my desire to become an Anesthesiologist. However, I'm working very hard as a freshman to maintain a high GPA, and I'm also remaining focused on my goals. I can't let my community down. I definitely can't let my family down (especially my parents!). I don't want to let my people in society who inspired me down. It's hard for me to say, but none of my parents ever finished college. Likewise, they are still successful today. However, I want to be successful like them, but only 100 times more! This will be my claim to fame if I would just continue to work 100 times harder in order to keep my dreams alive. Without a doubt, I know I can make a difference!
Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable event in college was the first Presidential Assembly; this was a dress-up ocassion. First of all, the college that I attend is a United Methodist affiliated college. It was so exciting to listen to the inspiring words our President, Dr. Oswald Perry Bronson. It's hard to understand that he's retiring in the Spring of 2004, but after 29 years in a leadership, you can imagine through his words how far this college has gone, and how it's going to continue to grow. It's people like Dr. Bronson who inspire me to be the best. Meanwhile, at the President's Assembly, I experienced joy, excitement, and love from most students who were at this program. Most of all, the living word (THE BIBLE) was truly brought forth when the guest speaker proceeded. This is something I indeed appreciated.
