My name is Taylor Alexander I am 23 years old. I always knew I wanted work for a business and eventually start a business I just had to find my niche. I went away to college in Fall of 2009 to Bethune Cookman University in Daytona beach FL. I majored in business management. During my term there I had several opportunities to work for different Fortune 500 companies such as enterprise, metlife, and tmobile. I always found myself in a retail managerial role and I ultimately loved it. My entrepreneurial side was still inching inside of me and I knew I had to do something to fulfill that desire. I started an online business selling women's shape wear that flourished beyond measure. Graduation was shortly approaching and I had several job off to be managers or supervisor for different companies but I honestly couldn't see myself working for anyone else and helping them build their dreams when I had my own dreams of being a business owner. Upon graduation I took a giant leap of faith and denied all offers and went on a journey to open Flawless Damsels. Flawless Damsels is a one stop shop women's boutique that sells apparel, shoes, accessories, handbags, corsets, diet plans and much more. Opening my business by far has been the greatest achievement of my life. I learned a lot about myself, the world of business, entrepreneurship, and my city while doing so. My grand opening on September 14, 2013 was a success and my business has been flourishing ever since. I have had the opportunity to participate in several fashion shows in different states, participate in many vendor events, host make up classes for well known artists, give back to the community and bring something different to the business district that my store is on. I am forever grateful for the people I have met while I opened this business and those who have given me much needed advice along the way. Due to the riots for Freddie Gray my business was destroyed and looted. My store front location is closed, my website is down, all events that I had up and coming are canceled, and I need everyone's help and prayers to rebuild. I won't let this event kill my spirits. I am going to remain positive and remember that God has a blessing for me and my business.
