Michelle Townes' Biological Maternal Grandmother First Woman in the 82nd Airborne Division (1978) Alumni Professor Marcus' Mama--he's a Greek, and he is marrying one of my Sorors next month I have commanded a military company and supervised a V-6/60-V-6/90 Piston Rod Production Line for a major automobile manufacturer I was the first member of my immediate family to earn a Ph.D.--from The Ohio State University (in English) I love my 7 sisters who are all older than I am, and I adore my irascible 3 nieces who are insane teens in NC I have several nieces who are HBCU alums and also at least three that I know of are AKA's; I also have fantastic nephews and cousins and other relatives who are historymakers
Most Memorable Moment:
Editing the Student Newspaper and Yearbook My first sweetheart from Smithfield, VA Pledging the first Black Sorority that recently turned 100!!--Go Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. and AE Spring Line of 1974! Graduating Magna Cum Laude
High School: John W. Ligon H.S. in Raleigh, NC class of 1971

Honor Societies, School Yearbook, American Chemical Society Internship, National Achievement Scholar, Science Club activities
Best Memories:
Mrs. Allison's classes from 1968-1970; being the last class to graduate from the last all-Black high school in the state's capital. Debutante Ball, Jabberwock, Blue Review, Golden Holiday Ball, Homecoming and winning the dance with Twiggy Sanders; music with Ms. Ann Hunt Jones; Mr. Ingram's science classes; Mr. Rainbow's algebra class and his sayings: "You justa got dat right;" We need to scrutinize the rudiments thereof;" and "If they aren't talking about me, I must be dead!" Mrs. Blakely's Trig class
