In recent years I have spent time working on advancing my career in human resources giving me the opportunity to assist companies streamline their processes and compliancy. I have accomplished this in the following ways: -Established document disposal policy for employee information. Elizabeth Public Library was destroying documents without awareness of guidelines. Researched State of New Jersey guidelines for document disposal of human resource, financial and other paperwork. Created on-line evaluation process, categorizing documents and gaining management approval for destruction. Instituted proper disposal procedures. -Implemented family leave electronic tracking system. There was a need for more comprehensive tracking of employee leaves to remain in compliance with the Federal Medical Leave Act. Identified software program and installed at Elizabeth Public Library. Enabled on-line access to all leave requests, improving tracking. Ensured completion of new hire documentation. Elizabeth Public Library often allowed a new hire to begin work without full documentation in place and a lack of communication with union stewards about new addition. Initiated procedure to require submission of all forms prior to starting work. Created communication mechanism with shop stewards, eliminating source of union-management friction. -Brought company into compliance with regulatory requirements. Next Factors failed to display required employment law posters and information in the workplace. Identified needed information and obtained State and Federal posters. Produced workplace that was in legal compliance, providing necessary employee notification.
