Q&A With Faith Jackson

What are your goals/aspirations?
" I could travel the world, visit the ancient tombs Egyptian pharaohs, celebrate on top of Mount Everest, sip tea with the Queen of England, and play golf at Camp David. However, until I achieve excellence, my life is wasted. “Excellence is going beyond the call of duty, doing more than others expect. It comes from striving, maintaining the highest standards, looking after the smallest detail, and going the extra mile. Excellence means making a special effort to do more.” I desire to be more than above average, my hopes lie in one day being excellent. After graduating from high school I wan to attend a four year college or university. I will absorb all there is to learn so that I will be a well-rounded and adequately prepared for the career force. According to the most recent statistics, the nationwide college graduation rate for black students stands at an appallingly low rate of forty-three percent. I want to make a difference in these statistics. I will effectively use my education to help others. I plan to start a scholarship fund so that I can pave the way for others. I liken my aspirations to one famous quote, “Let us not follow where the path may lead, but let us instead go where there is no path and leave a trail so that others may follow.” I hope to make a difference in my community and be a role model for the upcoming generations. After college I want to attend law school. Furthermore, I will run for a political office and live the rest of my as an advocate for human rights, while traveling the world and helping those in need. With the grace of God, strong will, and determination, I know that I will one day achieve all my goals ultimately; excellence. "
