Currently I live and work in Los Angeles. My wife (and fellow Hampton Alumni), Shimika (formerly McQuirter) and I have two children, Michael Joseph, who will be 5 in December, and Quentin Palmer, who will be 2 on October. I currently work in the Transportation industry with some dealings in the entertainment industry (when in Rome...) I will be relocating the family to my home town of Chicago later this summer to reconnect with family & friends and switching careers to my passion, Radio Broadcasting!
I suppose I was best known for my enthusiasm and optimism (which is still in tact!). I was very busy at "the real HU", participating in the marching band (Brass-D), the business club, Illinois Pre-Alumni Association, and His Chosen Sounds. I was also an RA for James Hall my last two years. My Freshman year, my roommate and a couple of other guys from Pierce Hall formed an R&B group called "Pure Harmony" that lasted for about a year or so. I was probably known more for the many choirs that I sang with and directed, including community and church choirs; and my 2 years on WHOV's Gospel Express morning show.
Most Memorable Moment:
My most memorable times were meeting my wife at HU; Staying up late in the Harbors (118C!) with Andray, Antoine, Keith & Ike playing Madden & NBA Live; Union Jams with steam coming up from the floors; My partner in crime, Rob Dixon on the radio; Friday Night Fellowships in Clarke Hall; Traveling with the band (Brass-D); Traveling with His Chosen Sounds (Tenors Rule); Competing in the "Hampton Man of the Year" contest in '97; and many nights in the 24-hour study hall at the library! Then of course, there is Rev. Jerome Barber and the whole Sixth Mount Zion Baptist Temple family! Rob & I founded the Joshua Generation choir.
