About   (request update)
I survived five years on kidney dialysis and received my Master's Degree while battling that same disease; a year later I received a kidney transplant. I have successfully made the transition from Corporate America to Education.

Claim To Fame:
My musical pedigree, I tried out for the band back in elementary school the music teacher, who inspired me, noticed that I had a natural affinity for music and invited me to sit in on a session. He gave me a choice of an instrument to play; I picked the biggest one, took it home and practiced. I was then officially a member of the school band and music became a big part of my life. I found myself doing solo acts at my church, doing duets with family and friends, participating in the marching band and school orchestra. Twenty years later I released two albums, so even when I take a break it doesn't matter because my musical skills are internal and will never go away, when I am inspired then I just create another album.
Most Memorable Moment:
Too many to name. But if I had to pick two, the day that I went over in my fraternity; both times that I graduated from college. The first time I was in San Diego getting my Bachelors, standing in my cap and gown and actually got attacked by a white supremacist who bumped me and kept going. I had to ignore it because that was my day not his. The other was in San Diego while getting my Masters, the obstacles that I had to deal with in order to arrive at that point were staggering. My girlfriend, family, and friends celebrated with me for two days straight, leading up to the graduation. Afterwards we sat down to the best buffet that I had ever had. To put that all in perspective a little over two months prior to that I was in the hospital and wasn't expected to survive but God had other plans for me.

Jazz Band, Breakdancing Club (Lynwood High School)
Best Memories:
Attending Lynwood High School from 1982-85. Not only was I a member of the school's jazz band but I had made so many friends and was considered at that time one of the best breakdancers in the school and city.
