Claim To Fame:
I have just published a book (August of 2004) called Fabric of Life which is available in local book stores and online. In fact, I have received some reviews on the Barnes and Noble website from some of their readers. ( http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?userid=bsq1KlRulb&isbn=141847102X&itm=1 )
Most Memorable Moment:
Probably the most memorable person I have met while in college is Sean Van Pallandt who is the director of Financial Aid. In a job with high demands on your time and energy, it is easy for people to become "burned out" and frustrated. This usually is reflected in their performance and concern for their work. Sean is under staffed and over-worked, but he still manages to maintain a genuine concern for the needs of Louisburg's students. He even goes the extra mile most times in finding out what a student really needs and investigating the various organizations available to meet those needs. He is never short with anyone, regardless of his work load, and he greets everyone he meets with a pleasant, warm attitude. His door is always open for students to come in and talk with him, even if all they want to do is vent frustration. Regardless of the subject, he listens with the same level of concern and interest that the student brings to him.
