Hey my fellow poets! My name is Tiara A.K.A Simply T. I’m 15 going on 16 and I have been writing for about seven years now. For me writing is a catharsis, it is something that I can do for hours on end. Whether I am writing a poem, story, or movie you can always find me writing. Besides writing, another pleasure of mine is reading, especially poetry. Some of my favorite poets are Maya Angelou, Paul Laurence Dunbar, Angelina Grimke, Langston Hughes, Claude McKay, Gwendolyn Brooks, Georgia Douglas Johnson, Sonya Sanchez and Gwendolyn B. Bennett. That’s just some of them! I have too many favorites to write down. All of the authors written above are very talented African-American poets. You can find some of their work in these two books: American Negro Poetry- Arna Bontemps, and The Book of Negro Folklore- Edited by Langston Hughes & Arna Bontemps. Well I hope that you enjoy my poetry, also I would like you to feel free to comment about any of my poems. Negative or Positive any comment is welcome.
