Q&A With Susan Jordan

(interview me)
Susan Jordan
Location: San Francisco, CA United States
Joined: May 2nd, 2008
About   (request update)
I was born and raised in East Palo Alto, California. Was born in the 60's when the civil rights movement was in full effect. I remember having to get bussed to the school across the bridge which was predominantly white for elementary as well as high school. While in highschool I met my future husband and upon my graduation we moved to Los Angeles where we resided for 7 years upon returning back to Northern California to start a family. I have three kids. A son who is now 23, a daughter who is 22 and another daughter (who isn't my biological child, she is my 3rd cousin but I've raised her as my own since she was 9 months) she is now 14. My husband passed away at 42 from heart failure. He was diagnosed with Cardiomyopathy (enlarged heart) at the age of 35. I was with my husband for 27 years. This year in October it will be 5 years since he passed away. Life after hasn't been the same, but being able to understand my life lessons and the journey that I am on towards my destiny gives me the courage to look at life always in a positive manner. I see joy in little things and never sweat the things that I know I can never change. I tell all of my family, my friends, my peers how I feel. I say what I mean because to me, you may never get that chance to express your true feelings so do it while you still can. It brings back so much love into your own existence that your own desires become fulfilled automatically. I can go on and on about this subject but to cut it short, I LOVE life. I LOVE my family and GOD IS GOOD!!!!
My Interview Question
How are you doing today?
Current Whereabouts:
Well, I was laid off of my job in March 2008. I have been looking for employment since then but have decided to take some classes to enrich my skills. I will be starting school on the 4th of August and while I am in school I will still be searching for employment.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
When people ask what are your goals, I try not to think of my future as goal oriented. I would rather like to say I have prospects in the making. A goal to me is something that is obtainable. You reach your goal and then what do you do. I think a prospect is better. You can obtain your goal and still continue to reach for something better. Always growing. In my personal life as well as my professional life I have been blessed to always grow upward. My aspiration is for someone to be able to look back at my life and say she touched me. Her life changed my life.
