Q&A With Alfons Prince

(interview me)
Alfons Prince
Math Teacher, Noble Network of Charter Schools

Location: Washington, DC United States
Joined: Jun 24th, 2008
About   (request update)
Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Washington DC, I bring a ton of unique experiences to my mathematics classroom. I try to get my students to understand that math is all around them and they have nothing to fear from math. I currently teach 11th and 12th graders and I make sure I am preparing them for college and at the very least college math.

I make sure that my students won't have to take remedial mathematics their freshman and that they won't be afraid of any challenge that they may encounter.

Outside of school, I'm an avid lover of sports. I used to be a sports journalist and now I play several sports on the weekend, namely flag football and basketball. Other than sports, my favorite thing to do is to watch The Wire, and Criminal Minds and just hang out with my friends.

My long term goal is to close the achievement gap for minority students so that we can rebuild our communities in cities across the nation.
