Andrea Roberts is a progressive, black feminist blogger, writer, poet, and native Houstonian who has dedicated her private and professional lives to giving voice to political and social justice issues and connecting traditionally marginalized groups to public resources. Over the past 12 years, she has helped struggling cities stretch budget dollars to meet the growing needs of economically disadvantaged populations, and worked as a journalist, campaign organizer, nonprofit consultant, strategic planner, and grant writer for housing, educational, and workforce development organizations. She hopes to pursue doctoral study focused on preserving and reclaiming the cultural memory and social capital of Reconstruction-era African American settlements now covered by master planned communities in Fort Bend County, Texas. Also... She also holds some fancy degrees from East Coast schools.
