The Monkey Cage is a story about a young man, Damien Hawkins and his female companion, Sandra Braxton. Damien is dealing with the failure, frustration, and humiliation, of a bitter divorce. Sandra steps in and becomes his best friend. Passion comes between them as they spend more and more time with each other.
It wasn’t until she spent some very intimate moments with Damien, that she learned of the many past pains, mixed emotions, and the hidden secrets he possessed; the twin he hid inside. As the relationship deepens, the monkey becomes an entanglement; a mass of distrust and confusion.
About the Author
Carol T. Williams, author of the book “Bellows from The Soul, and On The Wings of Faith, brings to her audience another realm of soul-staking nourishment.
In her era of writing, in 1997, 2005, 2006, and 2007 she was presented the “Editor’s Choice Award” for outstanding achievement in poetry, by The National Library of Poetry. Her works have appeared in such anthologies as, “The Other Side of Midnight”.
In 1998, Carol was selected for print in the genre “All The Man I Need - Black Women’s Loving Expressions On The Men They Desire” published by Gateway Publishers, Newark, New Jersey.
In July of 1999 she self-published her first book of selected writings titled “Bellows from The Soul.” She is a poet and novelist, bringing experience as an African-American writer to the Central Ohio community.
In October 2000, Carol founded Rave Publications, whereby she published her second book of writings titled “On the Wings of Faith,” in the Spring 2001.
Carol has been called on to speak at various local events, committees, and schools throughout the Central Ohio area. Columbus Area Inc., Columbus School for Girls, Shepard Branch Library, and Spirited Sisters (2002), are among the few.
She now resides in Reynoldsburg, Ohio, and is currently at work on “The Cage Unleashed”, the sequel to The Monkey Cage.

Synopsis:
While Sandra and Damien spend some time apart to deal with Damien’s
inconsistent behavior, GrandMo is suddenly evicted and moves in with Sandra. GrandMo; in her determination to get to the bottom of Sandra’s deceiving
relationship with Damien, insist that Sandra needs to know the truth and invites
herself to the Hawkins house for dinner, to force Veda, (Mrs. Hawkins) to
tell the truth about her son.
Meanwhile Damien feels the intensity to reveal his much hidden secrets from
the past. With Sandra and Moleen standing in the wings, Damien confides in
Pastor Davis and faces the truth about his twin.
Will we find out who Damien really is?....Or will we remain on the
dark side...
