My name is Channing Avery Trent. I am a Washington DC native. My mother always told me that an education would be the way for me to change the world. All of my life, I have achieved academic success thanks to the positive motivation and reinforcement from my mother. My mother attended North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina, so naturally she eased the thought of attending an HBCU in to my head. I bet she never thought I’d be an Aggie…
I am an ambitious young man who was not a product of his environment. I always thought of ways to make the world a better place to be. Having the opportunity to attend a prestigious HBCU, taught me how to stay focused and strive to stand out among the population. Being given the opportunity to take what I have learned in college, and apply it working with the Federal Government is one of the greatest achievements of all time, simply because I am helping to change the world, one computer at a time.
Currently, I am a Network Engineer with the Department of The Treasury, in Washington DC.
I've been employed with the federal government since 2012. When I am not at work, I can be found enjoying the "working class" night life.
On weekends, I do freelance photography and producing music or playing my saxophone.
Life & Professional Aspirations:
In my life time I plan to be successful in what ever I do. I am currently aspiring to be a singer, and also a print model. If the two of those do not work out, then I will move on to be an instrumentalist. If that does not work out I will work in my field of study, Graphic communications systems, where I can do anything from designing houses, to doing family portraits. -2008
CURRENTLY- I have accomplished the goal of working in my major, and now I am aiming to get into the entertainment field through networking.
My most memorable college moment is one night sophomore year, my friend and I were sitting outside of Pride Hall, a dorm on campus, and a guy offered us food if we took him to the club. So as all college students would do if food were involved, we took him. To cut the story short, my friend had a Lexus IS300 and the guy we were taking to the club was in love with his car, so my friend decides to show him all the car could do. He speeds up to a speed of 135 in a 35 mile per hour speed limit and a car crossed in front of us and we crashed. We were all un hurt but the car was totaled.
High School: Arundel High School in Gambrills , MD
class of 2005
Activities & Accomplishments:
Graduated 32nd in a class of almost 500, Lettered in Varsity Basketball.
Best Memories:
My best high school memory was playing on the basketball team and not quitting when the chips were down. I played under a racist coach who did all he could to make me quit. But I stood strong and survived the whole season. My coach did all he could do to see I did not get to college to play basketball, but little did he know, I was already on the right path to attend college without the aid of sports. So I stayed humble and made it through.
