Anthony Beckett received his Bachelor of Science from South Carolina State University in Family & Consumer Sciences Business: Multidisciplinary in May of 2012. During his time there, Anthony served as the Student Government Association Business Manager (2009-2010) and later President (2010-2011). He was the founder and President of Unity: The Gay-Straight Alliance, the first and only GSA at any public or private HBCU in South Carolina. Anthony also served as the co-founder and Program Director of the UV All Stars Summer camp, which provided a academic and social developmental environment for the youth, ages 5-16, of Orangeburg, SC. After graduating Anthony pursued his passion for event planning and community development & outreach; serving in various capacities such as event specialist, director of catering, vice president of education and outreach, student academic achievement specialist, and presently owning and operating his own business focusing the LGBT community, with a specialized concentration on the African American LGBT community.
