Q&A With Jessica Angelique

What book have you read that changed your life?
""Night" By Elie Weisel. It is his autobiography and a true account of his time in Auschwitz & Buchenwald; Nazi death camps. It is poignant and grippingly moving. Elie is one of my favorite authors. His book "The Trial of God", was JUSTLY awarded critical acclaim. To debate the contents & beliefs of that book is to have been TRULY moved by it. Both books changed the way I thought about the Holocaust & my spiritual belief. Although I am solid in my belief in God, the book 'The Trail of God" challenges the reader to think differently and openly about their individual beliefs. Both books are VERY heavy reading and NOT for the faint of heart. I always seek depth and substance in my choice of reading material. I want to feel and be challenged; not just told that I should BE feeling that way. Good literature challenges the reader to think, critically, and debate openly. It is how I grow, learn and expand my outlook on life. If you don't question or challenge the beliefs and writings of the author, then the book hasn't done it's job. Writing is meant to be thought provoking, exciting, invigorating, debatable, and interesting but, if all you think after reading a book is , it was ok; then your intellect defintely needs MORE of a challenge. Think of everygthing that you currently know about life, love, politics, finances; everything. Oscar Wilde once said that "Life imitates art far more than art imitates life". What reflections and echoes of your life, will your books leave? That is a question I answer BEFORE I put pen to paper and begin to write. Thank you for the interview request. It gave me cause for pause and required TRUE thought, before I answered. Thank you Pam for challenging my intellect. "

What do you most like about yourself?
"My faith & belief in God and my committment to my end goal. I've never given up on any of the above :)"

Interviewed by Joyce Brayboy 09/08/08

What is the most important mission in life you would like to accomplish?
"It's strange that you ask that question. My first mission is to be a good mother and role model for my sons Rj & Freddy. They are 19 & 13 and I'm still not sure if I've quite mastered the "perfect mom". I am however a work in progress. My second mission is to become a good writer and to impact as many lives as possible in the time that God has given to me. I smiled when I read this question becasue I am hard at work on my third book. My first book "Life Goal Success" will be released on November 21st of this year. My second book (my autobiography) is titled "The Road To Me; I Now Know Why That Caged Bird Sang" and it will be released just two weeks after my first book. My third book "Conversations" will be released some time in the summer of 2009 I hope; if I'm done. What's so important about Conversations? I am about to post a blog that will tell you why it is so important and why I would love to include you in my third book. I hope that you will consider helping me. Conversations will change how everybody looks at life and it will change all who read it in a profound way; forever."

It takes a look at how we tend to run a small business like a job and not like an enterprise. It discusses the pitfalls of doing that and offers some potential fixes in a conversational kind of way.
