Barbara hails from Brooklyn, NY where she attended Erasmus Hall High School and graduated in 1977 with a diploma in Music. She played the trumplet, flute and french horn in church and throughout her schooling in Brooklyn, NY. She is one of seven children born to Mary Quander and grew up in Brooklyn even though she was born in Bronx, NY. Barbara also attended Russell Sage College in Troy, NY and obtained her A.A. in Liberal Arts and went on to pursue her B.S. Ultimately she will be working on her Master's in the next few years with hopes of getting an MBA and starting her own company. Although the road to obtaining a higher degree has been long, she credits her presistence to the driving force of many of her family members who have also obtained their degrees. She is also the proud grandmother of two beautiful girls who she hopes to influence with the importance of getting an education.
