"I strive to be an integral part of a movement that brings about change; to move past struggles and to be an example for the next generation; creating jobs, opportunities and new ways of thinking.” ~ Yamil Little
As Chief Strategy Officer for Bridge DA Gap, Little is instrumental in developing innovative approaches and new media to reach youth, which he feels is fundamental in today’s socially challenging environment. The intrinsic value of Bridge DA Gap is the 19-lesson curriculum plan infuses with hip-hop music designed to reach students and teach them applicable life skills in a language they can understand. Examining social issues that youth face; finding ways to resolve modern day problems; and delivering practical tools to help young people build a solid foundation for reaching their desired goals are three of Bridge DA Gap’s principle goals.
Previously, he received Cum Laude marks with his Audio Production degree from The Art Institute of Atlanta (A.I.A) where he excelled in mixing mastering, sound design and recording techniques. Thirsty for hands-on knowledge in the entertainment industry, he filled a void in the college marketplace by creating The Recording Academy’s (NARAS) first GRAMMY U Student Chapter within the State of Georgia. Through GRAMMY U, Little was able to connect students with top entertainment industry insiders and marketplace opportunities for career leads and insight. Classmates elected him President of the Student Government Association’s Leadership Council where his leadership capacity expanded by managing campus-based large-scale events, carnivals, showcases and entertainment-based educational panels and workshops. In 2008, he was a key component in coordinating a march from Morris Brown University to the GA State Capitol to generate voter registration initiatives.
