Jim B. Golden, president and CEO of Golden Opportunity, is an experienced and dynamic award winning speaker, presenter, and workplace learning and performance (WLP) professional, who has a combination of over 25 years of professional and academic experience in the areas of adult and workplace learning, performance and communications.

Jim began his learning and development career in 1992 as a corporate software trainer. Since then, he provided learning and development services to individuals, teams, leadership and management from various industries. In 2002, he founded and incorporated Golden Opportunity to provide organizational communications learning and development services with a primary focus on the following industries: government agencies, hotel/hospitality, utility, and higher education (colleges/universities).

Jim is a member of Toastmasters International, where he has won several competitive speech contests, as well as club, area and district “Toastmaster and President of the Year” honors. The district encompasses most of the mid-Atlantic region.

Jim is a teaching excellence award nominated adjunct faculty member and course chair at University of Maryland University College (UMUC). Jim is also a facilitator at UMUC’s Center for Teaching and Learning (CTL). He has also received from UMUC, the dean’s recognition for outstanding student evaluations.

Jim received his Executive Business Education from Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth, Masters of Science from University of Maryland University College (UMUC) and Bachelors of Science degree from Central State University in Wilberforce Ohio.

Jim currently volunteers with the Maryland Business Roundtable for Education to provide educational and motivational speaking workshops to various Montgomery County Public Schools.
