On today’s hip-hop music scene, the sun rises and sets in the streets. For any person dealing with the new era of hip-hop music, keeping an ear to the streets is a key factor to being successful, and maintaining a credibility that exceeds the rest. Big Swoll has done all of the above, and lives it.
Born October 31, 19** in the heart of the south (Jackson, MS) Swoll has lived, slept, and bled music for 20+ years of his life. He first started out reading books about the music industry in middle school and continuing through high school until he broke through barriers and became one of the few black singer/dancers of "Attache" showchior at Clinton High School. He then applied what he learned as a performer and found his true love in the business of the industy by doing street promotions for various local rap artists in his city, and others. His name, then known as Suave Corleone, became one that people called on for street promotions and marketing for their artists.
From 2003 to 2005 Swoll began working for WRJH (Hot97) as a radio personality/producer for the Russ Parr morning show. Under a watchful eye by watching legends like Dj Scrap Dirty (Violator All Star Dj), Dj Doc, and Steve Poston, Swoll learned helpful tips in djaying on the 1’s and 2’s. He started to develop relationships with various industry execs, djs, and artists from Hen-Roc of Bad Boy Records to Dame Dash of Roc-A-Fella Music, David Banner, Paul Wall, Chamillionaire, Tony Neal, Dj Whoo Kidd, etc.
Swoll is currently the Urban Lifestyle Representative for Atlantic Records, Partner of Full Blown, LLC (Rob Gold www.myspace.com/robgold601) (www.robgoldworld.com), and runs Streets On Swoll Promo (SOS) which is a full functioning promotions and marketing company that provides marketing, street promotion, and promotional stratagies for artists, labels, and businesses.
In a 5 year span, Swoll has been able to accomplish more than many vets in the game. His resume boasts being the Assistant Promotions Director of the CORE Djs, as well as the Southern Coordinator of the Shadyville Djs.
