My heart tells me to become a muslim; My mind tells me no way.

Posted By: Chasiti Terrel on October 28, 2008 I feel like me wanting to become a muslim is complicated. When i attend mosques I feel spiritually fulfilled. When I attend churches, I feel like I am missing something spiritually. My family thinks I'm crazy for wanting to become a muslim. "The way muslim women dress is ridiculous", my mother says. She thinks women does not have to be covered from head to toe. My mother makes jokes about what I wear to a mosque, "such as you look like a grandma!" I do not see any harm in dressing that way. However, I do not think I can wear the typical muslim's girl clothing EVERY day. Especially, since I become dizzy a lot in hot weather. I definitely cannot wear long sleeves and scarves during summer months. The number one thing I'm skeptical about joining Islam is I am not a virgin. I know I should not put my business on the internet like this, but I just want people [mainly muslims] to know how I feel. I lost my virginity at age sixteen. I felt like a disgrace and still regret losing my virginity. I know that it is a big issue with women being pure in islam. I wish I can take my virginity back, but I can't. If I was a muslim from the beginning this probably would have never happened. I know a lot of muslims that have been virgins until marriage. I know a lot of christian females that lost their virginity before marriage. I even know christian females that has had sexual intercourse with four or more guys before marriage. I only had one past sex partner. The point of me writing this blog is so muslims can know how I feel. I would like to become a muslim, but I do not know if other muslims will accept my past. Let me frank, but also open with you. Only you can make the decision of what you would like to do. I'm a Christian and I know very little I can tell you about Muslins. However, I know much about Christ. He forgives sins and he is the only way I know that gives eternal life. You have the choice to decide to follow him, and if you will stay with him. All have sinned, but Jesus forgives all sins; except blaspemy against the Holy Spirit. Jesus can began a new life with you, where he'll make you a virgin again. How? Because you will keep his commandments. I hope you will choose to stay with Christ. It is my work and my duty to tell you about Jesus. It's your choice to come. He tells all who will, come. I hope that I as a Christian have persuaded you to choose Jesus. I believe. However, if you want to be a Muslim I cannot make that choice for you. I love Jesus, and I tell you what I am certain of.. Please, When choosing a way of life that you, an individual, feel is controlled by a Creator-that living, dying, good/evil: I believe that the human being must use the mind(intelligence) that they have been given by Creator to make this decision. Christianity as practiced in Europe and America is something that was introduced and given to Natives of America by the thief and murderer of America. Christianity as America knows it was given to Slave Americans by the rapist and murderer of America. I choose Islam because I believe in the Spirtiuality of Creator Consciousness refined in the lands of present day Egypt, Palestine, Israel, Syria, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Ethiopia, Sudan and Iraq.
