BEFORE YOU SPEAK...

BEFORE YOU SPEAK...
Posted By: TaNisha Gray Juisee Da Queen on October 28, 2008

I have a friend who is paralyzed and he always talks about living life the way he has to admitting that he's often times thought of just giving up on himself.

I guess I should say that he became paralyzed because he was shot close range 3 times by a friend. Not one of those friends some of us have that we've known for a short time, this was his best friend they grew up together and had been friends for more then 20 years.
They got into a silly argument and being intoxicated the friends judgment was completely impaired to the point of no return.

I try to the best of my ability to be as much of an inspiration as I can uplifting and encouraging him. I go to his house when I can taking the odds and ends he needs from the store, cook him a meal, clean the house and just provide him with company. His family doesn't help out as much as he needs them to so as a friend I do what I can.

While I'm there we have serious conversations. He feels such a great void in his life and always has but it's even greater now because of his physical limitations. I explain to him that people aren't always going to love you the way that you need to be loved but that doesn't mean they don't love you. He speaks of how people; women in particular are cruel and devious because of the choices he's made in love. He also speaks about not being able to survive off of his income of $900 a month, but spends well over $100 a month drinking.

My response to his way of thinking is simply this... If you constantly feel your life isn't worth living and don't appreciate the fact that God kept you here for a reason He'll take it away, if you continue to feel you'll fail at love you'll always get a person who isn't ready for the love you have to offer and if you keep speaking negatively you'll project negative things into your life.

My friend has such a hard time forgiving, moving on with his life and letting go and letting God in his life to which I tell him the only person he is hurting is himself the only person he has control over is himself and the only person who can change his life is him.

The people who have caused him pain or done him wrong in anyway have moved on with their lives while he's sitting up letting old feelings fester and rot him from the inside out.

All of that brings me to what I want to share with you all because we could all use a little reminder every now and then about thinking before we speak. This was shared with me and I'm all about passing the blessings on.

BEFORE YOU SPEAK...

BEFORE YOU SPEAK... LISTEN
BEFORE YOU WRITE... THINK
BEFORE YOU SPEND... EARN
BEFORE YOU CRITICIZE...WAIT
BEFORE YOU PRAY...FORGIVE
BEFORE YOU QUIT...TRY

Your words, your dreams, and your thoughts have the
power to create conditions in your life.
What you speak about, you can bring about.

If you keep saying you can't stand your job,
you might lose your job.

If you keep saying you can't stand your body,
your body can become sick.

If you keep saying you can't stand your car,
your car could be stolen or just stop operating.

If you keep saying you're always broke, guess what?
You'll always be broke.

If you keep saying you can't trust a man or trust a woman,
you will always find someone in your life to hurt and betray you.

If you keep saying you can't find a job,
you will remain unemployed.

If you keep saying you can't find someone
to love you or believe in you,
our very thoughts will attract more
experiences to confirm your beliefs.

Turn your thoughts and conversations around to be more positive
and power packed with faith, hope, love and action.

Don't be afraid to believe that you can
have what you want and deserve.

Watch your 'Thoughts,'
they become words;

Watch your 'Words,'
they become actions;

Watch your 'Actions,'
they become habits;

Watch your 'Habits,'
they become character;

Watch your 'Character',
for it becomes your 'Destiny'

So.........To prevent any obstacles.......

GET OUT OF YOUR OWN WAY!

Enjoy every minute you live!!

Blessings to you as well Queen, I was just sitting thinking after talking to my friend and decided to share. I know how lonely of a life it can be to not have faith, belief and love for self so I try hard to reach my friend and help him make it through by showing him how speaking positivity into his life and daily affirmations can make things seem much brighter.

Thanks for coming by Lisa...
I know all too well hoe easy it is for people to give up period let alone on self or others.
I will continue to do my best to reach my friend as I do with any friend I have because I know the loneliness of not having faith or love for self and I just can't give up on someone I care about.

Love ya sis...
