SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Finally, a true entry level opportunity with a Fortune 500 corporation that will train recent graduates on the job! This experience will prepare you for a real career in Information Technology with an outstanding company. This position will be responsible for assisting and supporting the IT Manager and staff in a variety of disciplines. Job responsibilities will vary depending on the student’s interests and placement but will likely include some of the following roles: Application Developer - Systems: • Support systems that enable business and plant processes such as Order Management, Human Resources, Accounting, Procurement, Business Intelligence and Plant Systems on a variety of computing platforms with various programming languages including testing and documentation • Write custom programs as required for software implementation, application interfaces, reports and inquiry screens • Work independently and with minimal direction in the areas of operations, security or software installation • Daily interaction with internal and external customers Technical Specialist - Infrastructure: • Assist with operations, security, consistent backups, software installations and upgrades on the local area network to ensure minimum downtime and a secure environment • Provide routine maintenance on users desktop, network servers, hardware and software, including setup and troubleshooting • Create and maintain user login security to all systems • Install and support voice network technologies including telephone systems, voicemail systems, IP telephony, voice over IP, call center, customer resource management and ACDs call accounting systems and audio conferencing • Troubleshoot, evaluate and support wireless devices including Blackberries, cell phones, and pagers Application Developer - Process Control: • Analyzes and diagnoses computer malfunctions and performs necessary corrective measures to efficiently return equipment and/or machinery to an operational state that satisfies managements’ objectives • Refines and maintains system software used to control process equipment and by modifying existing programs • Monitors and conducts necessary tests to assure digital systems are functioning properly EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Candidates must be a full-time student pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or any IT related field • Candidates must have completed or be working towards completion of their sophomore year and be in good academic standing. • Candidates must be willing to work one of two schedules: two semesters at 16-20 hours per week followed by one summer of 40 hours per week or one semester of 40 hours per week plus one summer of 40 hours per week.
