The Information Technology Associate Program provides relevant work experience while strengthening leadership capabilities for advanced roles within our organization! This position will be responsible for assisting and supporting the IT or systems manager and staff in a variety of disciplines. Job responsibilities will vary depending on the student’s interests and placement but will likely include one of the following roles: Programmer / Application Developer • Design, develop, test, document and support systems that enable business processes such as Order Management, Human Resources, Accounting, Procurement, Business Intelligence and Plant Systems on a variety of computing platforms with various programming languages • Implementation of any new ideas or improvements to the current systems • Perform development activities adhering to standards and practices that meet the Quality Management System Infrastructure Specialist • Installation and maintenance of all desktop related hardware and software including PCs, printers, fax machines, copiers and scanners. Resolving all issues relating to desktop computing environments • Maintaining asset inventory to reflect the current state of the computing environment • Single point of contact for all Business Service Center customers to report a problem, request service, and request information relative to the standard set of systems and services provided by the BSC • Provide Tier 1 support and is responsible for recording, resolving or escalating and tracking all incidents from the initial contact to their resolution • Proactive monitoring of the systems, networks, and computing environments supported by the Business Service Center. Responsible for reacting to any alerts for system failures, exceeded thresholds, or equipment failures • Administers and supports computer hardware and software that includes a number of Operating Systems and Database environments. Selects hardware, maintains versioning, change control, provides capacity planning, and performance management for all enterprise computer hardware and software Programmer / Application Developer – Process Control • Analyzing steel manufacturing processes and applying appropriate technology solutions • Working with personnel from varied disciplines in a manufacturing environment toward continual improvement in production capabilities • Detailed designing of system specification including hardware and software requirements • Coding, testing and implementation of applications / systems and user training. • Supporting the critical production systems in a timely fashion, troubleshooting problems and maximize operating efficiencies with minimal interruption • Coordinating both the design and development efforts utilizing project management skills • Monitoring the mechanical functions of the machinery that manufacture and produce steel products • Working with systems that monitor the environmental outcomes of steel production EXPERIENCE REQUIRED: • Candidates must be available full-time student with a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering or any IT related field • Must be a recent college IT or Computer Science graduate 2008 • A minimum of one programming course EDUCATION: Recent ‘08 Bachelors degree in Information Technology, Computer Sciences or related business field required; Will accept Bachelor students graduating 2008 or 2009 CONTACT INFORMATION: HOW TO APPLY: Paulette Ivory Paulette.Ivory@futurestep.com 972-383-1621 Korn/Ferry International, Futurestep Inc.
