BSU's Burroughs Resigns Assistant Basketball And Head Softball Posts

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on November 17, 2008 Assistant men’s basketball coach Fred Burroughs departs Bowie State University to accept a position as women’s assistant coach for the Delaware State University Lady Hornets. Burroughs spent six seasons on the Bowie State men’s basketball staff and served three seasons on the BSU Lady Bulldogs staff. He also has coached basketball at Norfolk State University, Columbia Union College and the University of the District of Columbia. The New York, New York native also served as the Bowie State softball coach for six years winning back-to-back Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) in 2007 and 2008. “We thank Coach Burroughs for all he has done for the University and the Department of Athletics and wish him the very best in his new venture”, said Bowie State Athletic Director Derek Carter.
