Book Promotion: Here is an Eight Point Plan to keep you on track

Give just enough information that would arouse the interest of the reader to want to find out more about the book. Send this press release out via e-blast services and new distribution services like BlackPR.com to hit magazines, newswires, radio stations, and TV stations across the nation. 2. Create a media kit for the book. This includes the press release, a great book cover, an awesome photo of the author, blurbs, book synopsis/description, endorsements, interview questions, a short bio of the author, the introduction, Table of Contents, copies of promotional materials and anything else necessary for the media kit (copies of previous clips, DVDs). Place all this in a personalized presentation folder. See www.vistaprint.com 3. Get a professionally designed e-blast through BlackGospelPromo.com and DetroitGospel.com to reach thousands in the African American Christian market via e-mail. This is a large part of the media blitz campaign because this e-blast will help to get the buzz going about your book and stirring up word-of-mouth. This has the potential to boost online sales because it hits the potential book buyer – and it’s viral! 4. Distribute and send out custom-designed postcards to thousands of churches, bookstores, and libraries nation-wide. Postcards are a simple way for people to get an "idea" of what your book is about. Use postcards or bookmarks. Either one. See gotprint.com or vistaprint.com 5. Advertise your book in newspapers and magazines across the nation. Thousands of people, who will not otherwise know about your book, will run across it in the newspaper or magazine. Thus, more buzz about your book. See the Christian Writers Guide for suggestions. 6. Do a podcast interview on the Chocolate Pages show or some other blogtalkradio show. Then syndicate each interview across the internet and on various social networks. Great PR! 7. Set your book up on numerous online retailer outlets across the internet. Placing your book across the internet generates interest in your book from online users and gives these users the opportunity to buy your book now. 8. Continually set up book signings (or mini-seminars) and speaking engagements.
