Posted By: MIISRAEL Bride on November 25, 2008 It's certain that books are written by so many popular authors and marketing can be a task if you allow it to overshadow your wordsmith. I have through the few years as a professional writer, (which I can say in breathing now) have found ways to make it seem much like breathing. I keep going. Inhale: Studying all the marketing techniques only made me want to cry. I've read so many ways to do this, and to do that...I held up my hands high and I found I needed to inhale. So grasped in my deepest potiential, my inner Spirit to take what I had and project as part of my new living. I developed what I call inhaling. Tasks include finding a good venue, one that is afforable, one that got the best results and feedback, and one that I could use often. Newspapers, small newsletters, public schools, churches and radio. These were among the best I could afford on my budget. It's a fact, many writers are not so fortunate in the areas of financial backing. There are ways to get federal grants and loans, but the process is and was too overbearing for my patience. Exhale: I wanted to whistle! I mean literary sales of books have plumbeth down to almost nothing. However, hope is still much alive and breathing goes on. In exhaling I look for ways to make your books more noticable. Be sure if can to always carry them with you, even for quick trips to the groceries, the shopping, laundry mats. Anywhere you can travel. Make your voice heard, tell people about you and tell them about your books. Ask if they know where book signing are?... and breath into them, you work is a precious work, because it is. Flyers help as well, if you can find the time to disburse them, find a safe place you pass the out. Make them stand out! Color ones are usually better, but black and white flyers still get the job done. Go out and breathe. You're still alive, and your book is only beginning it's life of being born!
