Treat That Woman Right!

Treat That Woman Right!

As women we're naturally nurturers.
We take care of the family, the kids, our men and our friends.
It's what we're accustomed to.
There's nothing wrong with taking care of the people you love, in fact everything is right with it.
When our families are taken care of we feel confident that we've done our job to take care of our little piece of the rock, sending our family into the world prepared to deal with the days task.
When our friends are taken care of we feel like we've done what is necessary to hold the ties of lasting relationships with the women and men we are closest to outside of blood relation together.
Everyone's needs are met so it's all good. Right?

WRONG!!!

There is one problem...
While we are making sure everyone else has been taken care emotionally, mentally, physically and in some cases financially our needs suffer and often wind up being put to the back burner.

This could turn out to be a serious issue in the long run because you burnout, you start to feel the pressure of being superwoman to everyone while no one is catering to you, you start to wonder if what you're doing is worth the effort you put into it and when you reach the point where you can't take it anymore there's no one to fill your shoes.

I was taught in my early adult years that no matter how much money you make or how many times you get paid whether it be once a week, every two weeks or once a month to do something for yourself. You work hard for your money and it shouldn't all go into bills and necessities. It's definitely understood that somethings need to be taken care of regardless of what you may want to do, but it's a good practice to treat yourself in the process. Besides you're doing such a great job at taking care of things, you deserve it!

You don't have to go out and spend large amounts of money on extravagant designer clothes, shoes and things that you won't use much. It's as simple as getting yourself that manicure you've put off because the kids needed something, buying yourself that cute little underwear set that caught your eye last week or treating yourself to lunch with the girls.

It doesn't matter how small the treat is that YOU give YOURSELF, all that matters is that YOU
"TREAT YOURSELF".

Taking the time to nurture and care for the most important person in your life will prove to be the best thing you've ever done for everyone involved. There's no guilt or shame in making sure your needs and some of your wants are met.

So from today on if you haven't made it a point to cater to yourself, promise that you will.
The people in your life will understand and you'll be better able to continue to nurture them.

I'm glad you have recognized that you've neglected to care for and nurture yourself.
I commend you gurl... WORK IT OUT YOU DESERVE THE BEST FROM YOURSELF!!!
How we treat others is a model for others to know how to treat us.

Hugs sis
