A GODDESS'S FRIENDSHIP, MERRY CHRISTMAS BABY YOU SHOULD HAVE TREATED ME RIGHT !

Good friendships are not easily reconized by all, and as my Grandmother use to say, you can count your friends on one hand ! That can apply towards a lifetime. As the year ends and another begins, friends may have come and gone but as one door closes, another always opens. For me, my new friends that I have now, I am extremely grateful for,these women are powerful, have direction and strength. And something to offer in my life as well. These are my girly friends, my BFF's, my Sister Goddesses and every woman need to have at least one ! Most men don't understand the connection ,some are threatened by it and the hard core abusers will do anything to separate the union as well as from your family. But good friends are hard to come by, you cherish them and love them like sisters. But with some you thought was your friend,.... out the blue, the inevitable happens like any other relationship, you go your separate ways. Maybe the break up was that she took the liberty to run your business, that no one else could do but only you. That wasn't being a friend ! Or maybe she let her dude talk her out of the friendship cause he was intimidated by you both, and how close you had become. That wasn't being a friend ! Whatever the reason, don't be the bridge burner because that bridge you both had built might be the very one you must cross someday. Let it not be you that destroyed it. Especially for petty reasons that nearly aways is the case. Whats worse is the aftermath, for to hurt that friend or she hurts you, in an undeserving way, would be answered to by God. Thats the way it works in case you didn't know, for what goes around really does come around someday. So as we close out the year and sing Auld Lang Syne, here's a poem for all my old time use to be loving BFF's : ( written by Kahil Gibran, I'm sure he wouldn't mind my replacing the he's with the she's, as long as I make my point. Anyway a dead poet has a hard time bringing on a lawsuit ) ! Speak to us of Friendship. And he answered saying: Your friend is your needs answered. She is your field which you sow with love and reap thanksgiving. And she is your board and your fireside. For you come to her with your hunger, and you seek her for peace. When your friend speaks her mind you fear not the "nay" in your own mind, nor do you withold the "ay." And when she is silent your heart ceases not to listen to her heart; For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed. When you part from your friend, you grieve not; For that which you love most in her may be clearer in her absence, as the mountains to the climber is clearer from the plain. And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit. For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught. And let your best be for your friend. If she must know the ebb of your tide, let her know the flood also. For what is your friend that you should seek her with hours to kill ? Seek her always with hours to live. For it is her to fill your need, but not your emptiness. And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures. For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed. Be this kind of friend to one another ! Merry Christmas Goddesses, To all my past and future ONES ! Auld Lang Syne ! Ah ..friendship that bandied about word. Yes, your grandma was right, you CAN count them in one hand. Probably because a deep and all knowing friendship cannot be had with too many souls. It can water down,the very deep meaning of a true friend. You can measure your friends, by the years that you have shared. Meeting a new "friend" who happens to be able to offer help at the moment you need it, is not necessarily going to turn out into a deep and lasting relationship. Sometimes, you have a very good friend that you are building a relationship with, when another comes along. I am so fortunate to have 5 friends from elementary school! This is 50 years later! I know them so well, and they know me. We know the "character" of each other's soul, nice..huh? We dont' see each other that often anymore because our lives got "busy" as we moved to different parts of the country, but when we come together, the familarity is there. The memories. I have noticed not a few "white" women who can mainatin these types of friendships with four or five girlfriends that they grew up with, can Black women come together? or is the psychological tear from the past still unpatched? With new friendships, I have noticed that sometimes, there is an "expectation" or some kind of control-there are varied reasons why we form friendships but none are sweeter than the love we can share with one another, in recognizing the beauty of each Goddess within. Thank you for sharing your diamond Beloved ! Your finishing touches just brought brilliance to it ! And yes, because of our identification of past experiences with other so-called friends, we seem to associate, which can destroy a relationship head on. Especially if that person has certain traits, that person who hurt you had . We have the tendancy to shut down out of fear of being hurt again.
