There are places we’ll go, but the First Stop is at Salvation …then it’s Get-A-Way to Georgah! Pick you some food items, and clothes cause this is a get-a-way you’ll sho enough won't forgit!…. Load up the RV we’s riding cross-Georgah this thime. Sat down at yo’ table or computer and take a ride wit and special humorous reeding trip wit me. Wait honey,! Look a here! I had to help that lady up she done slipped out of her chair!… "R you okay honey?" “I’m ok.” Why, Sho she is…Cause she was on the First stop! I helped her up off her knees at… THE SALVATION ARMY- MEMPHIS TN GERTRUDE’S PANTRY Alabama Street 01.22.09 I just wanted to mention how beautiful it was to received some good ol’ Southern Love and Sharing with lots of pleasant hospitality. I saw all them thangs when I visited with some Senior Citizens and Folk on Thursday, January 22,2009. Why my eyes was totally delighted! I met some sweet Memphis Folk. I talked with Lt. Jason Burns who headed the up food distribution.. He thought he’d just Get-A-way some bags of food to some 60 to 75 Senior Citizens . When I arrived he was just a ‘sangin and strumming his git-tar! They had fellowship sangin, a prayer and offered up some Salvation to all who attended. Here’s what Lt. Jason said: “Gertrude’s Pantry has been around for about 10 years, we’ve had a few cut-backs, but we’re up and at it again. “We supply food once a month to Senior Citizens for approximately a 2 week stable.” Also the Lt. Jason said soon they’ll movin into a new building near the Mid South Fairgrounds location! That's tar’rific! It’s all part of caring. If you’re a Senior Citizen in Memphis and you want to know mo’ bout this great thang, or if you want to donate too! That’s what you brought yo’ food far! Drop it off! Want to help out or participate call and find out how you can help! Call: 901-543-5136. Help give to few folks, or Get-A-WAY visit yo’ own Local SALVATION---…“Army“--that is. LOOK at that Seen ‘r ee…That's Miss E.. running off looking for some Private.. No peeping! We is done taking a restroom brake, let's stop over here and Get- A-Way to : HILLS AND DALES ESTATE-LAGRANGE, GA 1916 Hills and Dales Dr. This place is so nice ya'll... why the little tour guide said this here property features historic Ferrell Gardens which are the best perserved...I guess?...Set yo' little bitty eyes on 35 acres of property! Lay down yo'self on some of them hills and run with the farmer in them thar' dales. How often can you find this traquil place....why of course you can't, you have to get a way to see this pretty view. The gardens were created by Sarah Ferrell between 1841 and 1903, with extensive boxwood paintings, fountains, and herbal gardens. See a beautiful Italian villa built in 1916. To tour this come at these times: Tuesday thru Saturday 10-5pm Pay dis' money: Adults- $10 Students 7-up $6 Do ya'll thank if I woe my patent leather shoes, I could pass for a student? Hay,... I only got $6.00! Ne'ber been to Lagrange, GA; but in A Little Southern News....wit you I can go just 'bout anywhere! Let's Get-A-Way from here! It a beautiful drive here in Georgah! Marta is wearing her shades, and Oz has on my blouse...I mean her blouse! Mmm uh! Now, let me see here.. let's go buy some "sue-vah-nears! " This looks like a great place to shop....Wooooo!...Look at them mountains....reminds me of volcano fires... It's getting a bit chilly...Lets stop by this here place..That there sign says we can walks in.. COTTON PATCH QUILTER'S GUILD 2009 QUILT SHOW--WALKINSVILLE, GA March 6-8th 10a.m.-6p.m Weekdays Saturday Noon-4p.m. The Cotton Patch Quilters Guild of Athens, GA presents it biennal show. "A Quilt for All Seasons" There will be more than 200 quilts hand crafted by 100 members of the the guild. See patchwork, applique and techniques using photographs. They'll have at least 10 vendors where we can buy at least somethin to take back. The Scissors Man will be available to sharpen sissors and knives while we is here! GEORGIA MOUNTAIN FAIRGROUND Located along the shores of beautiful lake Chatuge in the North Georgia Mountian community of Hiawassee, about two hours from Atlanta, Greenville, Asheville and Chatanooga.
