Part 3: Spiritual Death & Resurrection...BLACK HISTORY As Told By the Prophets of the Bible

Posted By: Nathanael M. on January 26, 2009 Greetings and welcome again to part 3 of our six part series of Black History as Told by the Prophets of the Bible. According to the month of February we regard black history in a way no other Christian church will present it to Christians. Part 1 identified a race of people called black. Part 2 identified a nation of people whom the conditions fit mentioned in Deuteronomy 28: 15-68, and we pointed out in the bible that slavery is a punishment from God and no one else. In this article we will look at the spiritual death and resurrection of a people. Therefore, please enjoy part 3- Spiritual death and Resurrection. God chose Israel, a nation of people and commissioned this great people to do a job. This great and peculiar people did not do the job which is still set for to be done. By not doing what the Lord commanded Israel to do, they died a spiritual death. Ezekiel speaks about this nation of people called Israel which were called a valley of dry bones. Ezekiel was carried by the spirit of the Lord to a valley of dry bones and the dry bones were very dry. The Lord God asked Ezekiel “can these bones live?”(Ezekiel 37: 1-3). What does the valley of dry bones represent? When you read verse 4 Ezekiel is not talking to a valley of physical skeleton bones. He’s talking to spiritually dead people; alive physically and dead spiritually. The Lord told Ezekiel to “Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the LORD. Israel of old strayed away from God and today Israel lack the knowledge of God. There are a hand full of brothers and sisters who are spiritual Israel having the wisdom, knowledge and understanding of God. When we read Ezekiel 37: 5-8 the Lord is comparing His people to a bunch of physically dead folks. And since His people lack the knowledge of God they might as well be dead men and women walking. Once the word of God abide in us, through reading; once we find out the reason we as a people have been struggling so hard; once we find out how we should be serving the God of Israel, that’s when we will have the knowledge of God and know what it takes to get eternal life. The Lord said His word is spirit and life. Therefore, how did we die? Let’s specify some things so that you will understand why Israel died spiritually. In Hosea 1: 1 Ephraim is the son of Joseph and Ephraim represents Israel. Israel offended in Baal. We know that Baal is paganism, wickedness, idolatry or any other spiritual form of whoredom against God. Now we know Israel sinned against God and died spiritually. Verse 2-8 of Ezekiel is the consequences put on us for being disobedience. Let’s look at the matter further in Proverbs 21: 16. Solomon told us in Proverbs that “The man that wandereth out of the way of understanding shall remain in the congregation of the dead.” Look what Isaiah 65: 2-5 said about a rebellious people who walk in a way that is not good. Isaiah 65:4 means you are very much alive physically but spiritually dead, lodge in the monuments, or stuck in the churches which don’t teach you anything. You eat abominable things in your vessel or eat things like swine flesh. If you are among the people who say your temple is the temple of God and you eat pork, then here is what will happen when Jesus comes…. “They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.” (Is. 66:17). Read up a few verses and it will let you know this consumption is fire when Jesus comes. Whoever loves to eat pork this is for you, especially the church people. Isaiah 65:5 is talking about church people because they say “for I am holier than thou.” The church people are a smoke in God’s nose. If you are a non-smoker then you know how a smoker will irritate you with smoke. This is how church folks irritate God. Romans 10:2 “… they have a zeal of God, but not according to knowledge.” Another identity of spiritually dead people is in Matthew. Look at what happen when Jesus was here. In Matthew 8: 21-22 Jesus is selecting His disciples and one of them said… “suffer me first to go and bury my father. 22 But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.” The disciple’s father was physically dead and Jesus meant that let the spiritually dead bury the physically dead. In Ezekiel 37: 7 the noise the bones heard was something out of the bible some one probably ministered to them about. The people heard the truth but the truth did not stick because verse 8 says “there was no breath in them.” The prophets sent the word from God to get Israel’s attention. Jeremiah 25: 1-7 is telling us our forefathers did not listen when the Lord sent the prophets to Israel. And today Israel is not listening to the Lord. The same word of God from old has not changed today, but the people changed their God and their belief. When you look at the different denominations it would make you wonder which denomination is valid; seeing that they all have different belief systems. But how can you get around Ephesians when Paul told us there is “one Lord, one faith, one baptism” (Eph. 4:5), but the world will tell you we all serve the same God. All Christians can not serve the same God and all have a different way to serve him. There is one law for all. Numbers 15:29 “Ye shall have one law for him that sinneth through ignorance, both for him that is born among the children of Israel, and for the stranger that sojourneth among them.” Since our forefathers have broken the law of God, they reaped the judgment of God mentioned in Jeremiah 25: 7-9. The LORD said in Jeremiah 25: 7-9 He will bring Nebuchadnezzar the king of Babylon, His servant against this land. Take heed that Nebuchadrezzer king of Babylon is one of the four winds mentioned in Ezekiel 37: 9, “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.” Daniel 7 is breaking down the for winds that came upon Israel. These are the four winds of heaven or the four great beasts which are compared to animals. The first beast was like a lion which is Babylon. The secondly like to a bear which is Medo-persia. The third like a leopard which is Greek. The four beasts was dreadful and terrible and there was no animal to compare it to. These are devouring beasts that were to blow on the dry bones. After reading Daniel 7: 17 you will understand that… “These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.” These kings are the kingdoms we mentioned to you. The four beasts shall devour the earth (v.23), but the Lord will set his kingdom up on earth after the fourth beast (v.26-27). Dear readers, put this together and know that the beast made the dry bones live by all kinds of religious beliefs. Keep this information in perspective until you finish reading the article, and then draw your conclusion. Therefore let’s see how this first wind blew on the dry bones and made them live. Jeremiah 4:5-7 will tell us the evil lion is coming from the north, the destroyer of the Gentiles is on his way. The lion is the same first wind- Nebuchadnezzar of Babylon. This wind came and did not fan or cleanse Israel (v.11). Since Israel did not listen to God that they may live, He had to beat Israel to captivity that they might live. These bones are the whole house of Israel and the Lord is trying to get their attention. God sent His prophets and no one listened, but God got Israel’s attention with the four winds and God sentenced Israel to captivity under these four great nations that conquered the world. Jeremiah 4:14 “O Jerusalem, wash thine heart from wickedness, that thou mayest be saved. How long shall thy vain thoughts lodge within thee?” Here is something very interesting about verse 14. You would think that if you go to church and say you believe on Jesus that you are saved, right! But there is more. We as Christians have to HEAR and DO the word and if Christians are not DOING his word then they are the ones who are among the graves lodged in monuments, or spiritually dead sitting in the churches not keeping God’s word. That simple! Remember now, sin in the old days is the same sin today but seven times greater. Israel’s or black folks vain thoughts are still in them today. There is still wickedness among God’s people. That wickedness is disobedience. Babylon, Medo-Persia, and the Greeks have physically chastised Israel throughout captivity and now we are in the reign of the fourth beast which is Rome; they are beating us down with all types of false doctrines and lies which have not only physically but spiritually killing us as a people. Go to Hosea and read about God orchestrating the four winds against Israel. Hosea 13:7 “Therefore I will be unto them as a lion: as a leopard by the way will I observe them: 8 I will meet them as a bear that is bereaved of her whelps, and will rend the caul of their heart, and there will I devour them like a lion: the wild beast shall tear them.” The Lord let the nations have their way with Israel. It you don’t believe the contents of this article then grab your bible and read it for yourself. Read! Read! Read for what ever reason it may be. To prove this article wrong or to prove the truth. Just read it. Here is another thing you might not believe if you don’t read and that is the destruction of Israel came from God. Hosea 5:14 “For I will be unto Ephraim as a lion, and as a young lion to the house of Judah: I, even I, will tear and go away; I will take away, and none shall rescue him.15 I will go and return to my place, till they acknowledge their offence, and seek my face: in their affliction they will seek me early.” Deuteronomy 32:20 “And he said, I will hide my face from them, I will see what their end shall be: for they are a very froward generation, children in whom is no faith.” Read Ezekiel 37: 10-11. Israel said, “our hope is lost: we are cut off for our parts.” With the statement made by Israel you would think they knew their sins. Are we ready to live by every word that comes out of the mouth of God? When we do take hold of God’s word the breath will come on us and the flesh and we will stand on our feet as an exceeding great army or simply, we will live. Moreover, no one takes pleasure in the so called “African-Americans.” “Israel is swallowed up: now shall they be among the Gentiles as a vessel wherein is no pleasure” (Hosea 8:8). Hosea 8:9-10 tell us that Israel has hired lovers. The lovers are pastors and preachers of other gods that will lie to you with false doctrine and vain words and from your tithes are rich. Israel always has sought after the nations other gods in stead of clinging to there own God. Because of our iniquity our God have returned to heaven to see what our end shall be as mentioned in Deuteronomy 32:20. Now that we still have not sought the true and living God and acknowledge our offence we are still dead. At the time of affliction we will seek Jesus early. Would you want to seek the Lord in your affliction? Don’t wait until drama is on you, seek Jesus now, first by watching the live WEBCAST. God said in Hosea 13:9 “O Israel, thou hast destroyed thyself; but in me is thine help… 14 I will ransom them from the power of the grave; I will redeem them from death” Our God will save us from a spiritual death which is the bad teachings of the churches today. “Therefore prophesy and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Behold, O my people, I will open your graves, and cause you to come up out of your graves, and bring you into the land of Israel” (Ez. 37: 12)…. v22 “And I will make them one nation in the land upon the mountains of Israel; and one king shall be king to them all: and they shall be no more two nations, neither shall they be divided into two kingdoms any more at all: 23 Neither shall they defile themselves any more with their idols, nor with their detestable things, nor with any of their transgressions: but I will save them out of all their dwellingplaces, wherein they have sinned, and will cleanse them: so shall they be my people, and I will be their God. 24 And David my servant shall be king over them; and they all shall have one shepherd: they shall also walk in my judgments, and observe my statutes, and do them. 25 And they shall dwell in the land that I have given unto Jacob my servant, wherein your fathers have dwelt; and they shall dwell therein, even they, and their children, and their children's children for ever: and my servant David shall be their prince for ever.” Ezekiel 37:26 “Moreover I will make a covenant of peace with them; it shall be an everlasting covenant with them: and I will place them, and multiply them, and will set my sanctuary in the midst of them for evermore. 27 My tabernacle also shall be with them: yea, I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 28 And the heathen shall know that I the LORD do sanctify Israel, when my sanctuary shall be in the midst of them for evermore.” We have a reunion with our forefathers and our God at the appointed time. Therefore, he that endures to the end the same shall be saved. “I say then, Hath God cast away his people? God forbid … 2 God hath not cast away his people which he foreknew.” (Rom. 11:1).
