I pray this is a help for people.* Share with family and friends AFRICAN AMERICAN STUDENTS ARE NOT APPLYING FOR SCHOLARSHIPS: Even if you do not have a college-aged child at home, please share this with someone who does, and to anyone and everyone that comes to mind. Though there are a number of companies and organizations that have donated money for scholarships to African Americans, a great deal of the money is being returned because of a lack of interest or awareness. No one is going to knock on our doors and ask if we can use a scholarship. Take the initiative to get your children involved.! Money shouldn't be returned to donating companies because we fail to apply for it. Please pass this information on to family members, nieces, nephews, friends with children etc. We must get the word out that money is available. If you are a college student or getting ready to become one, you probably already know how useful additional money can be. Nice! Do not forget that Knoxville College in TN is a free tuition school. Also, Berea College in KY. One used to be for black students, and one used to be for white students. Check them out! Also, African American men can get scholarships to South Carolina colleges if they are interested in teaching. I also came across land grant scholarship for students interested in agriculture.

one more thing, GA parents need to get on the stick and be ready to jump on the HOPE scholarships for their children before hard times end them or seriously cut into them.

Hi Cece, thank you so much for choosing to be a blessing and enriching this blog of education information for people. I agree about our youth, in years past, I recall GA ranks in the lower half of educational standards and that we compare to 3rd world countries (In asters class I had to do a presentation on the educational ratings of Brazil, the kids are taken out of school before finishing 5th grade to work the fieds, school locations to far away and I recall girls arenot valued educationally.). The High School (Camden Co.), had no school on a Fri because the School as going to the State Football Playoffs. This game was on a Saturday night... Appreciate Sis.
