Friday Weekly Written by: Ms. Winnie Shields also known as MIISRAEL Hi! Brrr! It's so cold! Some of ya'll is probably cold too, huh? That big winter storm dropped snow and ice all over the coun'tree. It's so cold, "I is skating! " "You know me? Why of course, it's me..... I'm Yo’ Little Southern Belle, MIISRAEL." .. And this here is ‘A LITTLE SOUTHERN NEWS”. Pick up yo' skates, and lets track down some icey spots we can take a trip on the ice.. Skating is great fun!Although my "lil old bones" can't take much on the falling. ..I keep tryin.. Ya'll know what I mean...I guess? Let's put on our skates and triple toe loop.. to these here places where it's really cold and the ice is plentiful... "Ahh..help! Jen help Marta get up! Then, cime help me up too, we both done fell down already.".. Falling on some ice.... we're right here in MEMPHIS! I SEE SOME GRRIZZLIES falling on some LAKERS.... GRIZZLIES VS LAKERS--MEMPHIS, TN JANUARY 31, 2009 FED X FORUM GAME TIME: 7:00 P.M. it'S ALREADY SOLD OUT! These are Grizzlies on the ice.. "If you already bought yo' ticket you is there at the game!" These two "fans-tas-tic" pro-basketball teams will be shooting hoops and gliding like they is on ice skates! Some of them Grizzlies might be falling on them Lakers..or them Lakers will be running from them Grizzlies! The Grizzlies need a "lil hep" cause they is falling down to a losing season. They done skated to 10 losses...Awww!...Maybe these skates can help out! Memphis you need to pray for yo' Grizzlies Bears...They is falling on the Lake, and they need to win at least one basketball game this season. Come ya'll if you is in the cheering squad fo' the Grizzlies get out thar wit yo' cheer! Root fo' yo' favorate pro basketball team! "Me, well I'm stayin inside the blue stone fo' a "lil Southern cheering". It kinda like my skating though, ...I just skate inside my magination.. I don't rearily know how to ice skate... Ooops! plop! I'm down again..Go Grizzlies! Growl! or do somethin! Them Lakers is aiming to make you fall down off yo' ice skates.. Show them how you can glide!" "Thanks for heping me up again Jen! I got totally skated-up over that game!.."Jen you is a nice lady" I'll write about the winner in next issue of "A Little Southern News" Don't sweat it! Hey! get off that lap-top and go shoot some hoops! (Two Grizzlies sitting down reading a lap top) They is reeding "A Little Southern News" UPDATE THIS JUST IN! "THE GRIZZLIES LOST TO THE LAKERS! Lakers :115 Grizzlies: 98 The ice IS FALLING!" DAAAAH!...... Wipe off yo' skates, let's go over here cross that Memphis Bridge to a Little Rock, Arkansas...It's plenty of rocky ice in that town....Some of those folks still don't have power or heat...Brrr!... It's so cold ..the blind mice is looking for skates!.. THREE BLIND MICE--LITTLE ROCK, ARKANSAS ARKANSAS ARTS CENTER 9TH & Commerce/McAuthor Park Main Stage: January 30- Februry 15 Show Times: Fri: 7p.m. Sat: 3p.m & Sun: 2p.m. Look and see--if you anin't blind at a stage made jus'fo' mice. Please bring you chull'ens. They will abosulely..I mean "absolutely" showly in laughter at this wonderful stage adaptation of the nursery rhyme classic Three Blind Mice. It's shows to be plenty of ice to carry you about getting you there.."It's so cold.."I is skating"..Most of Arkansas is covered either in snow or ice, so you can say you'll be looking at some "Mice on Ice" Yo' chaps will be laughing at you, ... I guess? Oh..that's me they is laughing at! "Okay.. Okay..It's like that" The story goes them mice gets into a bunch of trouble trying to get some cheese. They'll be gliding cross the kitchen flo..on that stage, and falling down trying to get away...Did I say Get-A-way? I show did..Let's Scat! "I don't too much like mice!" Even when they is in "Little Rock" Mozell, I was "Just thinking" ..have you got any mouse traps? Mo'z is my friend...he's always thinking bout somethin.... Eeek! Who let that mouse in here! Mozell...Get him! That little rodent showoff! "Give him a scoup of that tainted peanut butter!" Okay ya'll, let's leave Mo alone..He can think of how to get rid of that mouse. Honest as Abe! He has a great mind and great minds have to thank folks! Umm..mmm. Whoa Nellie! We's gliding with stride, right here in the bride! Look at this once great thanker...We done skated here in one of the roughest places hit by that "icey wintar" snow storm on January 28, it's just like yisterday..Wit stuff like that...I can smell hickory burning far and beyond!....Do tell, the truth..I done..burnt my "bolong-knee" samitch..it's -a- smelling jus' like a wood stove in Kentucky...I'll put some bar-b-Q sauce on it..Sop! Mmmm.. It's not bad.."Like ya'll anin't neber ate burnt "bo-long-knee samwiches befo'" Look who's setting up a Bicentiennal! Open the doors, the smoking is pouring out my does' and over to.. BEYOND THE LOG CABIN-- KENTUCKY'S ABRAHAM LINCOLN LOUISVILLE, KY Began: October 21, 2008 Runs thru: June 06, 2009 Speed up them ice skates!..We got a few mo' miles to cover. Finally, we'll get over and Beyond The Log Cabin. Excuse me..Is Miss Hattie around?..Okay, I'm just telling a bad "Gone wit the Wind" joke...I can do that ya know. I lost you some where didn't I? I'll have that long talk with another thime. Any way, everybody who lives in, nereby, or round Louisville, KY. Come see this historial event of exhibits. See authentic artifacts and interactives of ...you've guessed it .."Honest Abe Lincoln" This is a great Bicentennial presentation. The Historial Society of Kentucky has worked hours to put and display this marvelous showcase of some of Abe's old stuff! But don't gets mad if you can't see it..You can reed all 'bout it in "A Little Southern News." Here is where Abraham Lincoln quoted about Kentucky..in "A Little Southern News." (ABE LINCOLN PICTURE WAS POSTED HERE) "I too, Am a Kentuckian.." "I wreckin Abe felt sort of welcomed here, and there in Kentucky too!" He's got a birthday coming up on Feb 12th. Bicentienial is a fancy way of saying 200 hundred years. It's nice to be remembered for such a long thime. Then, tell me dis' how come I have to remind you every Friday, I'm Yo Little Southern Belle, MIISRAEL?.. Yeagh.. I love ya'll any way.
