I Need Thee (Poem)

I Need Thee (Poem)
Posted By: Kyle Shedrick on July 05, 2005

I need thee, Oh I need thee
Every hour, I need thee, Oh
Bless me now my savior,
I come to thee

As humbly as I know how
Eyes closed head bowed
Doesn't matter whether I'm
Saying it softly or professing
A loud
Just how much I need you

And I knew that giving
My life to you so long ago
Was the right thing to do.
Didn't have to think twice
About it wasn't no math-
Matical equation, going to
Church and reading my Bible
was my own persuasion

And now, in an act of adoration
I without hesitation
Through song & pen
Give you laudation
'Cause you are my
Inspiration

To be more like you
Grateful for how you
Of the old man You slew
And in me, created
A new

Man, and I can is my
Motto because I know through
You, your strength enables me
Anything to do.

So I pray that you keep
my mind directed and focused
And not stray to goblins and witches
that conjures up the hocus pocus
Realizing that everybody doesn't
Want to see me prosper
I love them anyway because on Judgment
Day, I plan to be on your final roster.

But it's hard sometimes, doing the right thing
When all around you, people are doing their own.
Best believe, there are somethings I want to do,
But if I do I know Your light wont shine through

There are some places I want to go and some people
I want to see but I go I know that there Your presence
Wont be so I try to stay away and living

To see another day there sometimes overwhelms in me
The urge to spit out some sentences I shouldn't say. But
That's when I read into Your Word and behold that blessings
And curses can't from one mouth flow.

On a daily basis, the enemy goes and the enemy comes
But I keep my faith in You and know my victory has
Already been won.

This cross isn't always an easy cross to bear; but I promised You I'd take it through the sunshine and
Even when the weather's not fair.

So, you see, this is my prayer, this is my
Cry, this is my plea—I need
Thee Oh, I need thee.

It is unexplainable how the strength of God can keep us on the straight and narrow. You believe in him and he will believe in you. God is good all the time and all the time God is good. Stay blessed and keep writting.
