Part 4: The Priest of God...BLACK HISTORY As Told By the Prophets of the Bible

Posted By: Nathanael M. on February 06, 2009 The purpose of part 4 is to show you what we were commissioned to do as a people. We are a people who have a history that stretches far beyond the shores of America. In fact, the history of a black man in America goes beyond the shores of Africa. According to the bible we can date Black History back to the land of Israel- a very profound topic in the bible associated with the Israelites. The Israelites are a people of color which we explained in part one, two and continued to break down the fall of man in part 3 with Spiritual Death and Resurrection. We can recall the Civil Rights Quote by Jesse Jackson in a 1966 rally. Jesse said… "I am - Somebody. I may be poor, but I am - Somebody! I may be on welfare, but I am - Somebody! I may be uneducated, but I am - Somebody! I must be, I’m God’s child. I must be respected and protected. I am black and I am beautiful! I am - Somebody! Soul Power!" Address to Operation Breadbasket rally, 1966.” Jesse told you about your condition as a people but what Jesse Jackson FORGOT to tell you is who you are? Being just God’s child is a generalized answer. But we will straighten this out in this article. Do you have a worth about yourself? No one ever finished their train of thought to tell you who you really are. Neither have anyone ever told you what God have chosen you to do as a people. Every time Black History month comes around year after year after year, you never thought to observe Black History as you are now doing with the consideration of this article and the whole series we have presented to you by live webcast. Therefore, indulge in your studies of the bible as we discuss a people called the Israelites whom were chosen to be the Priest of the Most High God. In the third year when the children of Israel came out of Egypt the Lord God told Moses to tell the children if you will obey my voice and keep my covenant, you shall be a peculiar treasure to me above all people. From the conditions of today’s black folks I don’t think we did enough listening to God. But God let us know that if we listen to Him we shall be to Him a kingdom of priests, and a holy nation (Ex. 19: 1-6). The duty of a kingdom of priest is to go out to all the ends of the world and bring ALL people to the truth of God. All nationalities are to come to God. A lot of times we wonder what are we doing here on earth. What is your purpose? Allow yourself to become spiritual minded and by obeying God voice, is to read and do His word, and when you read Ecclesiastes 12:13 you will know the whole duty of man. For those of you who think that the previous paragraph was for the people in the Old Testament let’s confirm this in the New Testament. Read 1 Peter 2:9-10 to see the same thing we have read already in Exodus 19. Peter was the chief to the apostles and Jesus gave Peter the keys to the kingdom of God. The keys to the kingdom of God are the oracles or the answers and understanding of the word of God. Since we are a kingdom of priest and those of you obey God’s voice then let’s see God secure us to Himself. In Deuteronomy 4:32-37 Moses is gave the Israelites a report about what the Lord did for them. All because our forefathers (Abraham, Isaac, Jacob) listened to God and that’s why He loved them and chose us after them (Genesis 22:15-18; 26:3-5). Look at Psalms 147: 19-20 and see what the Lord had shown to Israel. The Lord is punishing us double for our iniquities because He gave His word to us and we did not receive it. God said “You only have I known of all the families of the earth: therefore I will punish you for all your iniquities” (Amos 3:2). We are the nation who was supposed to do this job as the Lord commissioned us, but we messed up. We still must show forth the Lords word to the rest of the world. The rest of the world suffers because of us. If we don’t receive the truth the world doesn’t get it. The priest duties among us today follow after the order of the Levites. The Levites did the services of the Lord. Since we were chosen Israel had to be ready to do the service of God. The Levites was consecrated to do the service of the Lord. Aaron’s son in the old days (Ex. 28:1-4) and now you in these last days; only if you allow the holy spirit to lead and guide you into all truth, because the messenger, the holy spirit was sent from God to give you skill and understanding. Regarding Aaron’s sons, Exodus 29:9 says the priest office shall be theirs for a perpetual statute. Perpetual means it doesn’t stop; this statute is for ever. Levi is a part of Israel and there are Israelites today who know they are spiritual Israel doing the service of God. Nevertheless, the Lord separated Levi to minister to Him and bless in the name of the Lord. Where we are now in this western hemisphere we called America; we are either form the tribe of Levi, Judah, or Benjamin. We were dispersed in captivity throughout the Mediterranean world. The three tribes came over into Europe, England, South America, Central America and North America and the Caribbean’s. The so called black man is out of one of these tribes, Levi, Judah or Benjamin. The other ten tribes went into captivity in the eastern regions of the world; Assyria, Russia, India, Japan, Australia and China. The Lord did not allow the three profound tribes to assimilate. Our ten brothers don’t stick out in their captivity as we do in ours. We have Judah the royal tribe whom the Most High God comes out of. Levi the priestly tribe which does the service of the Lord and Benjamin the warring tribe who have done all of the fighting among Israel. As the generations goes on and on the priest is still active. The Old Testament was the foundation that was set forth for the apostles and us today to stand on. Romans 9: 1-5 will tell you what pertains to Israel. “Who are Israelites; to whom pertaineth the adoption, and the glory, and the covenants, and the giving of the law, and the service of God, and the promises.” The adoption means the Lord took us from a nation which was Egypt and brought us unto Himself. The glory is the appearance of god in us through the understanding of His word. That’s why when you do what God say you become a peculiar people, strange to others, because no one really do what God says but His servants. The Covenants was given to us as well, according to Psalms 105:6-10. We are explaining the service of God which is being the priest of God. Just to touch on two major promises on a need to know basis, is the promise that Abraham and his seed after him will receive the land of Canaan for a everlasting possession (Gen. 17:8) and that we will have everlasting life in the kingdom of God. The biggest mistake made by Israel was to turn from their God. The adoption was done by God, but the glory was not kept in us. Israel on a grander scale doesn’t know about keeping the covenants because they say we don’t have to keep the law. Even most of Israel has corrupted the service of God with dishonest gain; and more than enough of them look to obtain the promises. Therefore, today it is according to our faith on what we have read and learned and will do regarding God’s word. The do’s and don’ts was written on stone in the days of old, but finding fault in Israel for not keeping the law, God had already planned to put those same laws in our minds; that we may remember them (Heb. 8:7-10). The tables of stones are gone or they were done away with as the world believes, but what was written on those stones should now be written on the tables of your mind. THE KEEPING OF THE LAW! You are reading about a great God we serve, a God without controversy. A God that was manifest in the flesh, a God the world believed on and was received up into glory. This is none other than JESUS CHRIST. This is that same Jesus that was in the beginning with the Father. The same JESUS John 1:1-2 mentioned. Jesus was made flesh and He came to His own but His own did not receive His (John 1:1-2, 10-12, 14). Israel does not know God today because they did not receive Him in the apostle days. That’s why we are in every religion under the sun trying to find something but disregarding the one and only faith that is to obey His voice; the voice of one Lord who wants you to serve Him according to His will. Jesus had a protocol He came to His own. No other nation did Jesus come to but Israel. Eventually the Gentiles came into the fold because we did not receive Jesus as our God from the beginning. When you read Matthew 15:21-24, a woman of Canaan ask Jesus to have mercy on her. But Jesus answered and said, “I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.” Because of the woman’s great faith the Lord had mercy on her. Here is what Jesus has that the whole world needs: the living bread (John 6:50-51). Look what Stephen said in His defense about how the children of Israel refused Moses and how a prophet like Moses will rise up and they will hear Him. Moreover, this Him is Jesus that was in the church in the wilderness. By fire by night and in the clouds by day (Acts 7: 35-39). This same Jesus was spoken of in Isaiah 49:5-6. The Lord said it is a light thing to recover Israel but He said He will be a light to the Gentiles as well and His salvation going out to the ends of the world. Through us Jesus was suppose to be a light to the ends of the earth according to what is written in truth. Therefore, since we didn’t do our job right all kinds of brands of doctrine about God is all over the world. Which one is valid? Let’s read how the men of God did the service of God according to what is written in truth. In Acts 13: 42-48 almost the whole city came to hear the word of God on the Sabbath Day. Even though Israel found themselves unworthy to receive God’s word the Gentiles were glad to receive and believed and they kept the Sabbath Day. Something has been changed because today the Gentile keep the Sunday the 1st day of the week as their holy day. According to Paul and Barnabas they knew the gospel was for the salvation of the world because they read the prophet Isaiah 49:5-6. Jesus is working through us that we may show forth His glory and praise to the world. This is our duty as the Priest of God. There should never be a difference in Faith IF you serve the God of Heaven. One Lord, one faith, one baptism (Eph. 4:5). Furthermore, what advantage is it to be an Israelite? What would you say if you were asked this question? Romans 3: 1-4 will give you the answer and it will be your duty to answer whoever asks this of you. The advantage is that the oracles or the answers of God were committed to Israel. For those who don’t believe; your belief doesn’t make the faith of God of no effect. Don’t let anyone put doubt in your mine about your faith of God. The misunderstanding of infidels should not have you doubting your faith. Therefore, be strong when people is arguing their point but not READING the bible to prove their point. Make sure the word is in you that you may stand against the wiles of the devil. Let’s look at another example of the answers of God being in the hands of Israel. Back when we were in Egypt the Pharaoh needed a dream to be interpreted. We know about the dream Pharaoh had about the seven lean cows and the seven fat cows. Pharaoh called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men but none of them could interpret the dream. Eventually, Pharaoh called for Joseph the Israelite, the son of Israel, to tell him the dream. Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, “It is not in me: God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace.” The magicians and wise men did not get the meaning of the dream from God but Joseph did because the oracles of God were committed to Israel (Gen. 41:1, 8-25). When we go into Daniel 2 we read about another Israelite that answered Nebuchadnezzar dream. The king of Babylon had a dream and called all his magicians, and the astrologers, and the sorcerers, but they could not tell the king his dream. This is a rare thing the king is asking because the king don’t even remember his own dream so who can tell him about it if he can’t describe it. Daniel stepped up, one of the captives of Judah, an Israelite and told the king, God will show you the dream (Dan. 2:1-5, 10-12, 24-29). The point here is that the world would have to come to Israel for the answers of God. The oracles are only given to spiritual Israel. Praise the Lord for His word. Remember what you read about Isaiah 49 and what Paul and Barnabas told the Jews in Acts 13 about salvation being a light unto the Gentiles and to the ends of the earth. Nevertheless, you can read about how the first Gentile had to come to Peter to be accepted in the church. Peter is an Israelite, whom was given the keys to the kingdom of God or given the understanding of the word of God. Every nation and individual that feared God is accepted with God. And through Israel the true gospel is preached. (Act 10: 1-6, 34-37). Even in the future when the Lord makes His second coming Levi will still minister to the Lord for the People. (Ez. 44:9-16). The Levites who went astray to sacrifice to idols will have to do the sacrifice at the gates of the house of God for the people. On the other hand the priests of the Levites, the sons of Zadok, that kept the charge when Israel went astray, will minister before the Lord and do sacrifices before God. “Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance” (Ps. 33:12). “The vineyard of the Lord of host is the house of Israel” (Is. 5:7).
