We Always Needed to Question Food Safety ! ARE THEY NUTS ??????

China isn't the only country that has trouble poilcing it's food industry. 500 people have fallen ill and health authorities believe eight deaths may be linked to salmonella contaminated peanut products.The culprit,a Georgia processing plant, Peanut Corp. of America. Lax enforcement of loose federal and state regulations makes it easy for tainted products to glide into the food chain. It seems no law required the plant to tell state inspectors in 2006 that it had detected salmonella a dozen times in 2007 and 2008.In fact when the initial test showed contamination, the company got a clean bill of health from a different laboratory. So this product has been out there for awhile. Makes you wonder how many others are out there ,and has this been done before. Do you really have to wonder ? Now....., Georgia lawmakers are upset. ...Now ? Now they want to propose companies to report their testing results to authorities. In my opinion they should be equally angry that the Georgia Department of Agriculture inspectors didn't shut them down in 2006 when it discovered florishing strains of salmonella! The Food and Drug Admin. should not escape a thrashing either ! I find all of this to be incompetence and incomprehensible ! As if our new president doesn't have enough on his plate, but to launch an investigation of the FDA and a criminal investigation of Peanut Corp. In any case, a closer examination why the government has failed to police the food on our tables is fully warranted. My advice, take PBJ's off the menu ! At least for awhile. If not forever ! I know Goddess ! They have a first class Elite Pass straight to the devil ! Quiets kept, always had one with their names on it ! No telling how many people have been sick or will be because they don't know. We think everyone knows, but would be surprize as to those who stay on top of the news.In a minute the food supply is going to be scarce, or folks won't be able to afford like now. When the president makes the adjustments necessary, a lot of them will be shut down.Getting back to basics is coming sooner than we think ! Blessed are those who have land and their own gardens. This is a quote that I heard on NBC evening news report tonight about the peanut butter recall of low income school lunches tonight , "...the government's inspectors are under funded and the inspectors who find something wrong do not report it"! Goddess LaDonna, can you beat this one??????? Hearing this report I did not know if I should laugh or cry or just sit there and scream at the top of my voice!!!!!!!This is a disgrace and illegal and inhumaine at the least!!!! cece, this is why I keep saying how we as a people are going back to the "GOOD OLDS". A lunch form home can better not been seen as being a LOOSER in todays. society. Who can afford to pay to eat out in school or at work when our states can not even afford gas to put in the school buses or to pay our teachers...or even pay minium job wages to keep a place to eat open...
