SUNO's Prince selected to All-GCAC women's team

Posted By: Eddie Francis on March 03, 2009 FEATURED Content NEW ORLEANS, LA - Southern University at New Orleans’ (SUNO) Jazzlyn Prince was named to the All-Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Team today. Prince, a 5’7” junior point guard from Tuscaloosa, Alabama, had a dynamic season for the Lady Knights. Prince has not only made her mark on a conference level but also on a national level. She is ranked 13th in the NAIA in assists per game, 21st in steals per game, 30th in defensive rebounds per game and 45th in total rebounds per game. Prince’s season averages reflect her highly active style of play. She has five double-doubles on the season and she stayed at the free throw line, making 60% of her foul shots on the year. Prince averaged 11.16 points per game and 7.48 total rebounds per game. She also had 66 steals on the year. Prince prepped at Paul W. Bryant High School where she won the Alabama Miss Basketball Award and the state’s defensive award. She was also the Alabama state tournament MVP in 2007.
