Marta Fernandez CUNY -Queens College class of 1985 Funny--La Donna and I were just talking and I mentioned Lola Falana--whom I met at my Catholic Church (then) in Las Vegas--she looked like a brown doll with these huge doe shaped eyes..and Tamara Dobson--who I ran into at Saks 5th Ave, in Manhattan in 1978--was some stunning sumthin'..as for "La Baker" I am reading her book 'The JAZZ CLEOPATRA" which my library was discarding--God Bless her up there!-- she grew more and more into her beauty in her 70's what elegance what class, what strength!!in one picture in the book former Princess Grace Kelly is ogling Josephine- Glad I shook up the cow webs and now you all are talkin' about Jayne..lol--meanwhile here is another one "Ophelia DeVore" and she is still FLY! ROBINSON IRMA UC, Davis class of 1992 Oh, how can I forget Eartha Kitt and Josephine Baker as those Goddess of voice and physical beauty and racial pride who had to go out side of this country to become the 'classics' they are and leaders who blased the paths for today's females in the music industry. Please continue to educate us Marta as we own this to the future. Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it is such a truth that one Black generation must pass on to the next. Or better yet, each minority ETHNIC group must pass on to our children and grand children. A lot of ethnic groups are now recording our living history orally or BLACK IN AMERICA by way of the real world point of view. So again thanks Marta.
