CIAA Announces 2008-09 Women’s Bowling All-Conference Team and Bowler of the Year

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on March 23, 2009 FEATURED Content Durham, NC… The Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association- Women’s Bowling Coaches Association has selected this season’s All-CIAA Women’s Bowling Team. The team will be formally recognized at the Championship luncheon held today in Durham, NC- AMF Bowling Lanes; 1:00pm. This year’s Bowler of the Year hails from Bowie State University. Tycora Brown, a sophomore from Pocomoke City, MD, leads the conference with a 196.0 average and 6272 total pins. The Lady Bulldogs enter the tournament at the second place position in the Eastern division, behind Eastern Champs Elizabeth City State University. The 2008-09 All-CIAA Women’s Bowling Team is listed below: Tycora Brown (Bowie State) Jessica Florit (Fayetteville St.) Rebecca Frusciante (Bowie State) Akira Turner (Fayetteville St.) Tiffany Johnson (Elizabeth City St.) Kayla Moore (Virginia St.) Tiffany Ball (St. Paul’s) Keia Marshall (Shaw) Ria Sweeney (Livingstone) Antoinette Bailey (St. Augustine’s) Championship match play – Match One through Five begins today from 2:00-7:00pm. The Championship Game is scheduled for Monday, March 23. Quarterfinals, Semi-Finals and Championship Game play time: 9:15am-3:00pm. All matches will be played at the AMF Bowling Lanes in Durham, NC.
