Posted By: MIISRAEL Bride on March 23, 2009 HOMETOWN MEMPHIS 03.23.2009 OLD NEWS IS STILL NEWS TIGERS ROARED A WIN ON SATURDAY 03.23.2009 Memphis, TN It may be old news, but Memphians are celebrating old news of the University of Memphis Basketball team win on Saturday against Maryland. Fans were glued to their televisions watching the Tigers roar their way to a win over Maryland. Once the Tigers took the early lead they never looked back. Tyreke Evans brought home 19 points from that game. Fans in Memphis have been talking about that old news all weekend and it's Monday. Old news perhaps, but it's still news. Memphis Tigers is the number 2 seed in the West Regional, but on Saturday they played like number 1! Fans are rejuevenated still..It's the Tiger's Fever. Memphis won 89-70. Now it's on to the FINAL FOUR! Every thing old is new again....I was told.. Read this story... THE OLD SAGGY PANTS.. 03.23.2009 Memphis, TN If Memphis Legislators have their way the old saggy pants will need a new belt. State Representative Towns and Senator Ophelia Ford are proposing a bill to new law that will make wearing saggy pants unlawful!...The old way of wearing your saggy pants may have you bagging a fine and some community time if the bill is passed to law. Many Memphians feel that it's useless and that it's a law that may not be enforced. The law will counter-act those who wear saggy pants below their underwear. It's a fashion that's not new and quite old, but the NEW law could make results bounce back to the OLD way people used to wear their pants. At least older people think so. The bill will be further discussed by law-makers next week. Tighten the belts! By then this will be old news... U.S.CUSTOMS NEED NEW WORKERS 03.21.2009 Memphis, TN Hundreds of Memphis lined up for new jobs being offered by the U.S. Customs Border Patrol on Saturday. Men and women were seeking to find jobs watching the borders of Mexico. Sounds like a tough "old" job. However, job seekers were willing to give it a try. Travel and relocation were part of the job description and of course, you have to be a U.S. Citizen. The job positions pays a bright new salary of 36,000 to 46,000 a year. You could buy a lot of new belts and pants with that.... This ends the Old and the New...Still it's news. Join me again. When? Old...I don't know.
