Posted By: Jehan Bunch on March 26, 2009 Job Description Major Responsibilities: -Provide administrative leadership for Curriculum Development and Assessment, Distance Learning and Instructional Technologies, Faculty Professional Development, Institute for Faculty Research on Teaching and Learning, and Interdisciplinary Studies programs. Facilitate the faculty leadership of these areas. Provide feedback, support and evaluation to the faculty leading these areas. -Facilitate Faculty Development Advisory Team, Faculty Technology Advisory Team, and the Faculty Learning Day Team. Be an active member in leadership teams related to Curriculum and Teaching such as Deans Council, Academic Governing Council, Curriculum Leadership Team, Distance Learning and Instructional Technology, Assessment Team, Sustainability Council, Honors Team. -Coordinate instructional support and interdisciplinary studies work with the other Associate Deans to assure that departments, programs and faculty have the processes, tools, and support they need to provide increasingly effective learning experiences for students. -Organize the Instructional Support and Interdisciplinary work to provide the highest quality of services for faculty to support their teaching and curriculum work. -Develop and improve processes that facilitate curriculum development and innovation in teaching. -Develop and improve processes and partnerships that facilitate interdisciplinary connections across curricular and co-curricular areas. -Assist in planning, budgeting, monitoring and reporting the work of this area. Review and evaluate work both routinely and through Year End reports. -Work with the ISIS Dean to assure this work has the resources and partnerships necessary for its success. -Assure that practices in this area are consistent with the latest research and standards in curriculum and teaching by creating opportunities for faculty to discuss internal and external research and benchmarking studies. -Develop grants to support the work of this area -Coordinate ways to recognize, honor and reward exemplary faculty work in curriculum and teaching. -Initiate faculty payroll for the faculty leaders in these areas. -Coordinate with the OD staff in the Learning Academy to assure smooth operations. -Supervise the Academic ESP for this area. -Participate in professional development to continue learning and to stay abreast of research and practice in teaching and curriculum development. Qualifications / Requirements Requirements: Master's Degree in Education or related field. Experience with Curriculum Development, Instructional Design, and Assessment. Experience with Faculty Professional Development. Proficient in use of instructional technology. Minimum of five year's college teaching experience, preferably in a community college setting. Minimum of two years academic administration and leadership experience. Strong communication skills Ability to work collaboratively across departments to achieve shared goals Demonstrated commitment to continuous learning and improvement Commitment to faculty leadership.
